Almost every decision since trading for Chapman has been wrong for the cubs. Chose quintana over Verlander, didn't sign big FAs like Harper because they had 6 guys to resign, didn't resign anybody from the core, traded guys at their lowest value and now back in a shitty ass badly done rebuild. Saw this coming a million miles away; it's super obvious ownership is throwing Hoyer under the bus. That being said, if they get Swanson, Rodon, Justin Turner and NarvazeI, would be happy.
Kap is wrong about Baez. We're talking about this SS market and what they bring to the table, but there is no guarantee that any of them don't decline or have a bad season. They could still have Baez at SS and at a minimum still have an outstanding defense up the middle. I'd be willing to bet his bat returns before Bellinger, who has a much smaller sample size for his career.
Listen to what former Cubs have said about the team. All of them are jaded about the Cubs organization, so why would other players want to play for the Cubs? At a minimum they should have kept Schwarber and Rizzo, and I bet both of them have better batting averages next year with the shift being gone, on top of what they bring to the table hitting for power. And the Taillon signing makes no sense to me, over Senga. The guy has had TWO Tommy John surgeries, and his career ERA is near 4.0. But this is their biggest signing so far this off season?

Kap is 100% correct. I’m pissed at the cheap Cubs. I’m tired of it. However, resigning Baez, KB, Riz, etc was not the thing to do. That team wasn’t winning. They ran it back a few times and each season seemed worse. Those deals look terrible. Take the L, @gdubcub.
gordon is 100 per correct ! cubs are operating like the pirates its unacceptable to not extend the players who can help you win a few more games this season look where were at we dont even offer or match st louis offer for wilson and we add what another dead bat possibly in bellinger . i think the bryant baez trades were neccesary and could turn out quite well possibly . but bottom line cubs are neogating in bad faith on these extensions and looking to field a team of cheap controllable prospects and hoping they hit gold
