Welp, pretty shitty game, foiled by two number 2’s: “Shit” ice and Jimmy “Feces”.

Reset the streaks, now they gotta get back to where they started from.

  2. theguyishere16

Of all the hockey games ever played, that was certainly one of them.

  3. JamesCurtis24

Meh, you’re gonna lose games. It was a tight one. On to the next.

  4. XPhazeX

I was prepared for either streak to end but not both.

And 2 goals by Jimmy fucking Vesey.

  5. ieastass69

shesterkin outplayed Murray and the special teams were dog shit. thats the game recap. oh well. new streaks start Saturday

  6. Samurai1221

Not used to this feeling, where’s our point !

  7. RestartNick

Mentally prepared for Ovi to beat Howe’s record on Saturday

  8. secks_see_guy

Can’t win them all, it was a good run for the streaks, for the team and Marner.

Man just wish ZAR actually managed to pot one of the many chances he had tonight.

  9. Kinglokner16

The game summed up in one word…. Sigh

  10. ifonlyihadaname

The boys played just okay tonight, the rags played good defence. Shitty ice and a lot of bounces going the wrong way sure didn’t help.

    Can’t win em all

  11. AduroPinquis

Well, that was quite the run for the Leafs but unfortunately, tonight they just didn’t have it. And even being off their game they were still right there with the Rangers but just couldn’t muster up the goals. Oh well, time to start a new point streak.

Also, fuck the Rags and every other team that plays this boring ass style.

  12. another_plebeian

And of course they’re gonna lose ground to Boston. What the actual fuck, Boston.

  13. jrdnlv15

There’s bound to be a stinker every once in a while I guess.

  14. ripDarkk

Not a great game, but can’t win them all, oh well

  15. nownowthethetalktalk

Ducks beating Montreal makes this a little more tolerable.

inb4 « Mitch Marners point streak is over » thread on r/hockey is multi gilded and the top post

  17. Minimum_One_2195

I for one, thought we would never lose in regulation again and Mitch would go on a three year heater. I’ll be writing a strongly worded letter to Maple Leafs management to voice my displeasure.

  18. GoatStimulator_

Shesterkin and terrible ice. That didn’t even feel like hockey.

  19. TheGapInTysonsTeeth

Let’s not act like losses don’t happen once in a while.

We’ll be back on track and having some smile on Saturday

  20. SnazzyCazzy1

Im most pissed that Keefe threw in the towel the second the En Went in, puts on the 3rd line, doesn’t use his Timeout. Like we didnt just fucking score 3 goals in 66 seconds, thats fucking maddening

  21. soobviouslyfake

Excellent defense by the Rangers. I’m not mad about that, they handily won a lot of board battles, and got in the way of executing anything meaningful.

Not gonna win ’em all, and I’m okay with a close loss like that. The boys seemed tired, and there seemed to be a weird vibe throughout the arena?

  22. eagleboy444

No, we didn’t look great at times tonight but NYR had some elite defense.

Now…losses happen, wins happen. Streaks of Mitchy’s caliber rarely do. Fuck, I’m sad now. A loss is a loss. Move onto Saturday. But shit. Mitch. 🙁

    What a guy.

  23. JamesCurtis24

People saying « shitty game » not sure what you’re all talking about, at least if you’re trying to infer poor play by the Leafs. They looked decent in the loss, this wasn’t a total shit can effort. I can live with losses like these, they held the Rangers to 20 shots, it was a low event game, and the Rangers just got one extra break the Leafs didn’t.

Not really much to say or take from the loss other than to keep playing hard and get your revenge on Saturday.

  24. guY-Incognito22

    Hoping Lily isn’t seriously hurt.

  25. Leafs just didn’t have it tonight but this is the first loss in regulation in over a month. Just hope Liljegren isn’t hurt

  26. incredibad29

That’s the Rangers we all know and love. Get caved in for large parts of the game, bailed out by site goaltending.

  27. Volderon90

I’m honestly glad they got it all over with in one game. Streak over, loss. Reset and go again with no bullshit hanging over you.

  28. justfornoatheism

disappointing 6 on 5 but worse games have been played, can’t be salty about this one. hurts to see Mitches streak end, but there’s still plenty time left in the season break it again

  29. Picklepucks

That was some sloppy 2015 play right there

  30. TayOs1998

Passing reminded me of our inability to get passes off early in the season. Hopefully it’s just a one off. Lost some precious ground on the B’s.
