McDavid had control of the puck in my opinion. The uncalled cross-check in front of the ref was infuriating 😤😭
Looks exactly like the Cale Makar goal, but the total opposite call. I think both should have been offside but it's a shame there's no consistency.

this is offside, clear as day. unfortunately, it’s the situation room having different interpretations of the rules depending on the day that’s the issue.

As a Blues fan, that offsides call could have easily went the other way. I’m not a lawyer, so reading the offsides rule didn’t help much to clarify the play.
Getting pretty hard to watch the NHL with how inconsistent the calls are. It's literally a coin flip. It's so bad it's either blatant fixing of games, or the most incompetent league in professional sports. Neither is acceptable.
Can someone clarify to me why that wasn't offside cuz I thought offside meant the players skates were over the blue line before the puck. Which is exactly what happened in this case. Genuinely curious what all the little rules I'm missing are.
Wait so McDavid didn't have control? (Which is BS) so then did STL bring it across their own blue line because then you don't need to tag up therefore still not offside. This was one of the worst calls I've ever seen and I'm a Flames fan.
Like Steve Dangle says all the time, there is zero consistency from one day to the next in regard to NHL officiating. I personally think it was offside (seemed like McDavid lost possession for just a second), but the Cale Makar goal from last year was practically exactly the same play and was deemed onside. No consistency whatsoever.
I think the league knows how much controversy the offside calls create, and that creates $$$

Cale didn’t touch the puck until his teammate left the zone therefore on side McDavid entered the zone before the puck therefore off side why are people so dumb.
Toronto intercedes, Binnington benefits, McDavid and Draisaitl get hosed. If that's not a dang-it, what the hell is?
