I love the classic jerseys and glad they are the home/road sets again, but the orange should stick around as a third. Orange is under used in the NHL. Some color diversity is good.
Orange as the primary uniform colour is off putting. I would have liked if Edmonton's home jersey used the third jersey blue along with using the regular logo
Who's next Los Angeles?
The orange jersey is ok as an ALT. That navy/orange 2 tone shit is horrible.
Now Oilers STOP messing around with your jersey’s! Glad to see the originals back. Get rid of the dark blue and orange. I thought I lied it but now I don’t at all.The only NHL team I think that should use orange is Philadelphia! Hey Chris you should or could you do a video on the new Moose Jaw Warriors new logo and jerseys and talk about their logo and jersey history? It was a pretty major re brand for them.
I wish the Oilers would do this new (old) jersey but with navy blue instead of royal. I think a navy blue base colour would look amazing with orange trim (but not a two-tone jersey like their alternate)
Man Oilers keep chaining and changing lol
Nicely done with the subtle Mike Grier tribute 👍
Good catch on the Sabres tidbit! I'm a Buffalo fan and didn't even notice. I really hope this doesn't mean they're going to push for white at home.
I feel like royal blue is too commonly used in the NHL. I think the navy and bright orange made the Oilers stand out. If they want to go to a blue base they should do something like their AHL affiliate's, Bakersfield Condors, dark jersey instead of going back to royal blue.
Orange >
The Oilers going back to the retro jerseys look is so a good look for them never liked them having the orange jersey as a home jersey looked very weird
I do like the Devils 40th Anniversary patch look very sweet coming from a die hard New York sports fan out of the Tri-State Area NY/NJ that watches the 3 local hockey teams in the New York metro area, Devils. Rangers, Islanders also the Islanders 50th Anniversary logo is ok but could of been better.
I'm not gonna lie I'm a bit disappointed. The orange was so good, and to ditch it entirely is a big mistake
I'm glad they're going back. I never liked the orange/navy. I'm not a fan of the navy 3rd either. I never understood why they changed to begin with. Of course Buffalo used their white jersey. It's the best jersey in the league.
So, expansion Kraken aside, this means we are now entering a fifth straight season in which no team has introduced a new and original jersey design for their home jersey, right? After some changes in 2017 with Adidas (Edmonton being one of them, and Minnesota being another quite notable change) every time a team announced a different home jersey, it's been a throwback, although sometimes with very subtle changes. Ottawa. Buffalo. Calgary. Arizona. And now, Edmonton.
I specified "home" jerseys, but the only original design unveiled for an away jersey was Carolina's "Canes" jersey, I believe.
I like the occasional throwback. Vancouver has probably been the best at it with the black flying skate coming back like once a year. But I wished teams were more willing to try new things for their regular jerseys…
The Knights wore their third gold jersey at the draft leading to speculation that will just be made the primary home
This is so boring and lazy. I wish they had stuck with the navy blue and the brighter orange.
Great work as usual. One thing I noticed, it looks like the Oilers expanded that 3D texture stitching into the numbers and captaincy letters for the layer between the primary number color and outline. Has any other team done that?
I may be the outlier, but I prefer the navy/copper look.
A hockey video in July, what is this! 😛
outstanding draft coverage love your content
As an Oilers fan. I have my jerseys already. But seriously Oilers STOP dropping this jersey!
Now the Devils desperately need to return to their old (the ones just before Adidas) jersey
Kudos to Adidas for getting the Oilers jersey right this time….the stripes are lower down on the sleeve so the block of orange on the blue jersey no longer runs all the way up to the elbow.
Canucks should do the same 1970-1971
The Blue Jackets had solid numbers at the draft for the first time. Their normal jerseys have the Adidas holes in the numbers.
Might Buffalo be hiding something? I mean, why else would they be wearing their AWAY jerseys when everyone else brought their HOME jerseys?
Are they obligated to wear the navy third this season or the team wanted to keep it around?
I'm a Leafs fan but the Oilers have always given me serious jersey envy
Yay! The traditional jerseys are the best, anything else just feels like a imposter and gives fans like me a identity crisis. Lol So glad to see this move. They also seem to have more successful seasons when playing in the traditional Jersey style 😉 Now let’s go win that cup!
Oilers are always retro LOL
I have always hated the orange jersey. It is refreshing to see the better jersey coming back!!!
RIP ORANGE CONES.
Another great video, Chris!!! Keep it up!!!
Let's go Oilers
Never EVER change this again, Oilers.
I actually wouldn’t mind the orange jerseys as an alternate or a second home
I’m crazy about the Oilers Alternate jersey, dark navy blue/hot orange. I’m glad to hear that’s continuing again this year.
