Horvats time with Vancouver was decided when they signed JT Miller. They have the worst contracts in the league and ruined Petterson and Hughes by not doing a full rebuild around them.

This is TO again thinking they are a contender when they are pretenders ,,,, when the playoffs come around if you pass the 1st round I’ll be surprised,,,, why would a guy like O’reilly go to TO when he can go back to Denver and actually win a cup, plus he won’t have to do all the heavy lifting ,,, to get Horvat you’ll have to give a 1st rounder , a blue chip prospect,,, PS your goaltenders and D aren’t good enough to win a cup!

Personally I’d like to see dubas go after young RFAs instead that could benefit from a change of scenery. Comtois, Bemstrom and Asplund could be good value targets. One of these guys could become that future 2LW the team needs. At the most, they shouldn’t cost more than a 2nd rounder. If dubas still has his job, I’d like to see him go after Alex nylander and bellows in the off season as reclamation projects, kinda like galchenyuk was.
ROR the more I think about it, the less sense it makes. If he is the 3C they still have a gapping hole at 2 LW. It is hard to see how the Leafs re-sign him with over 22 million at 1 and 2 C already. He will be prohibitively expensive. I'm just not seeing it.
JVR is also interesting, but it commits the Leafs to playing Marner and Tavares together. Marner can work well with slower players and we all know what JVR can do with Marner sending tap ins his way. Tavares's grinding game would work fine with JVR, so that isn't a problem. Marner and Tavares are good defensively so they would help cover up his shortcomings there. But Nylander is abysmal when asked to play with slow guys, he has a north south game and needs to play with guys who have speed. So they would be locked into Marner Tavares and Matthews Nylander because JVR only fits on the second line.
They really just need to find someone to play 2 LW. They don't need a stud, just a big guy to forecheck hard and dig out pucks, chip in the odd goal.
In fantasy I had Binnington and dropped him and it has been a relief tbh. He was so up and down. I picked up Kochetkov and S. Skinner a few weeks ago
