These mistakes happen because of bad coaching.
Isles so unpredictable. how can isles lose to az. (twice) one night yet beat one of the better teams in vgk the next night? and five goals was really three with two garbage e n goals. And getting swept two games by lousy yotes should be a fireable offense for lane with caps now breathing down isles backs. isles should have been able to beat yotes just on effort alone playing in a 5200 seat practice rink sized arena that yotes can't even sell out where opposing fans make up 2/3rd of fans there. he-ll b's fans outnumbered yote fans and started a brawl there last week. And listening to some of the isle banter out there A. they have no confidence in lou making a deal for a scorer and will wait too long to try and do it. B. they think romanov deal is bad. the dude may be able to hit but he aint potvin or even kaspar like lou thought he was. C. no confidence in lane who is trying to play more offensive without the ingredients to do it. and i foresaw a tough 13 stretch based on that. No book on lane as nhl coach that says he can maneuver isles through tough stretches. Barry worked magic with this roster. That magic was two-three seasons ago now. It is gone now. And that is why ass't coaches are rarely promoted to coach on the same team once a coach leaves or is fired. They now have to make the tough decisions as head coach and can't be easy or buddies with players anymore. I remember wings thinking former isle dave lewis would make a good coach post-scotty going from long time ass't to coach. And two quick playoff exits proved that transition didn't work. btw fashing scored a nice skill type goal with the cut in move and score goal.
