We’re all pretty solid armchair hockey coaches, minus the big salary. I’ll bet Sutter loves reading all these comments. Wish our team was doing better, but its still great entertainment – better than working!
If you want to look at 2 opposite coaching and interviewing styles just look at Sutter and Woodcroft. Each of their teams could lose 10-0 and Woodcroft would say "there are things I liked about our game" and Sutter would say "I don't like nothing". So which coach is more effective with their perspective? And which coaching style will resonate more with their players? Sutter who keeps it real and speaks to his players like men? Or Woodcroft who seems to be always paddling down the river called "denial", reading too many "power of positive thinking" books, is a chronic hand holder and speaks to his players like fragile children? Considering both teams seem relatively equal at this stage, Oiler and Flames fans will know soon enough which coaching style secures the better win loss record at the end of the regular season.
