The hits just don’t stop coming…

Him and Voracek out lol. And we thought the Patrick-Ellis trade was lose-lose

Not really surprised at all by this. From what it sounds like his injury was/is (labrum), the rehab approach was likely a hail-mary to avoid what is typically an 8 month recovery from surgery, but from the looks of it that didn’t work.

Just wish the best for Cam. Sucks that this keeps happening to our team obviously, but it’s gotta be harder on him than anyone else

    Less good players

    Less goals

    Less goals

    Less wins

    Less wins

    Better pick

    Good!

Good he can help bring Bedard up next year

is this some kind of joke with players long term injured getting cleared by our shitty doctors, coming back for a game, then immediately going to LTIR for another year?

  7. This medical staff is unbelievably inept. They had him « ready to play » 2 weeks ago. It’s bordering on malpractice.

    > Crossing Broad has agreed not to publish specifics prior to Atkinson or the Flyers announcing the details of this “upper body injury,” but it’s serious enough that it could be career-threatening to the 33-year-old veteran.

So potentially 2 years of $11 mil in LTIRetired money. Can’t wait for that money to be wasted on trying to compete instead of rebuilding.

Dude what the fuck. There’s no one to even blame (waiting on the full story) but what the fuck did this team do to reach this level of bad juju.

The hockey gods continue to punish us

Much like Atkinson’s upper back, I am numb to this development.

There was a graphic posted a couple weeks ago, saying the Flyers have gone the longest in the NHL without a healthy starting roster, something like 400 consecutive games or some shit. Head-spinning.

At some point, one has to ask if it’s us, because I find it hard to believe we go out of our way to bring on injury prone people.

I mean it’s not like his return would’ve made much of an impact anyway.

From Charlie: [« Regarding Cam Atkinson, I heard yesterday from a source outside the org that he was slated for season-ending surgery, but was unable to get second confirmation elsewhere. So my guess is that @AntSanPhilly’s report is correct. We’ll see if the Flyers or Atkinson comment today. »](https://twitter.com/charlieo_conn/status/1604855616010276864)

How is it that every single player Chuck brings in ends up with significant long-term injuries *except* Keith fucking Yandle?

  16. Gunmars

There has to be something fundamentally wrong how they are approaching their rehab and medical philosophy. It seems year, after year, after year, after year this team is plagued with major core injuries and surgeries. Injuries are random, but how you treat and rehab them is most likely not.

Love all the medical professionals in here pointing fingers at the medical staff. We don’t even know his specific injury Nevermind the progression of his treatment. JFC.
