Intensity of Red Wings' effort in their own defensive zone was basically zero in the first two periods. They woke up to third a bit but I don't see this management taking this team anywhere since they are completely lost at times. Quite often they don't know whos gonna take the puck in the neutral zone or have serious problems just in the basics like clearing. There's no chemistry or structure which leads to inconsistency in every part of the game which shows up of course especially during special teams.

on dowd's second goal: i watched the game. our commentators assumed it was goalie interference, but husso was actually saying that he thought the puck went out of play into the safety netting on the dump-in before the goal. he may or may not have been right, but they ran out of time to look at it before challenging, so good goal.
