  1. Sure glad I canceled my bs sports net subscription! In part because of their blackouts and in part beater the team is playing so poorly!

  2. $14.5 million for Jack Campbell and Darnell Nurse will sink the team. Campbell is blowing up in the Oilers face and the overpayment for Nurse is horrible.

  3. Here's our "contender" scoring so far this year.

    Draisaitl 21 McDav 28 Hyman 14
    Janmark 1 NUGEE 17 Yam 2
    Foegele 3 Holloway 1 Pul 2
    Kostin 2 Shore 0 Ryan 4

    INJURED: Kane 5 McLeod 3

    D: Nurse 5 Barrie 4
    Bouchard 3 Ceci 1
    Kulak 2 Broberg/Neime/Murray 0

  4. Defensively Irresponsible and Soft (both defensemen and forwards). Complacent. Almost no passionate play. Crucial mistake after crucial mistake. Team no longer does what Woodcroft asks them to do. 5 on 5, they’re lousy. Contender??? Nowhere near it! … Dallas will likely demolish them.

  5. I think it's pretty obvious that Drai is hurt. Probably the same injury from the playoffs last season. I saw him shift his weight wrong tonight and he just fell. Like his leg couldn't support him. He can't pull his one timer anymore without dropping to his knee. I think that's why he's playing with Connor. Because he can't physically carry his own line right now.

Not throwing shade at Drai in anyway. Not his fault. Just saying I think that's why we're running the lines we are. I just don't see Woody making the same long term mistake as Tippet with line combo's.

  6. Played for the tie? HAHAHAHA. We got worked for the last 5 minutes of the game. We barely touched the puck other than standing behind our net with it when Nashville made a change. Other than the PP this team is hot garbage.

  7. Nurse and Bouchard must be in a contest to see who can make the biggest gaff. Oiler PP is now a guaranteed breakaway for the other team, or at least an odd man rush. So many guys making mistakes that should have been worked out in Juniors. One of Campbells best game so far, and it is really mediocre. Maybe start adding GRIT instead of wimpy soft talented people who can pushed off the puck with mild wind, and guys who decide that not thinking is the sign of a superstar. This team is brutally underachieving due to the same people, making the same mistakes. Maybe bench some of the repeat offenders and start calling people out Woody.

  8. I hope we can pull it together pretty soon because we will miss the playoffs if we don’t!

  9. Campbell is really weak stick side !…just cannot see him improving much!…I watched him a few times last year and he doesn’t even look like the same goalie!

  10. With the face off in Preds zone in OT. Why didn’t Woodcroft call a timeout to get McDrai back out there instead of leaving Nuge & Yamo that lead to that horrendous junk line change. 🤦🏾‍♂️What aggravates me is how much he overplays McDrai during regulation, but then in this case he doesn’t make an effort to get them out one more time when it’s 3 on 3? Very frustrating team to watch these past 3 games.

  11. Goaltenders in general are always easy targets to criticise but any knowledgeable hockey fan should also know that their team mates (especially the D-Corps) carry a major responsibility in preventing Grade A opportunities from occurring in the first place. So, in this particular game (and especially for those who watched this mess unfold), how many extended times were the Oilers hemmed into their defensive zone by the Preds who in turn could fire at will? And, whose fault was that??

  12. This team needs their best players to defend. I’m getting tired of this. Time to team defend because they won’t win come playoff time. I’d play the third line as there first. Sit Bouchard a game.

  13. McDavid and Draisailt have been increasingly bad on defense of late…which is not ideal since they seem to be spending more and more time per game in the defensive zone. Whatever injury Draisaitl has seems to be getting progressively worse or at least it is a greater challenge for him these days as his skating ability and even his strength on the play is noticeably diminished. Turnover after turnover. Sloppy passes. Can't hold the line. Can't hold his guy. Muscled off the puck too often. Frequently MIA on the occasions we are getting a rush the other way. This is putting the line in the neutral or defensive zone much more and our top line is STRUGGLING in the defensive zone and are getting scored on every game. McDavid has a major puck watching addiction and it is not helping either. But like you guys said, the top line is putting themselves in the situation where they need to score at least 2 goals per night to even contribute offensively since they have to constantly make up for their defensive errors. Many of their goals are on the power play so you are relying on penalties…its just not a sustainable way to win games. Very concerning. The solution would be to (obviously get better at defense but if that's not happening then) move Draisailt off the top line to give the top line a better chance 5 on 5 and also maybe have fewer defensive gaps if a more defensive forward replaced him on that line like RNH but in his present state Draisailt cannot center his own line. We just seem a bit stuck as for our top line at the moment and it sucks because I don't see this problem improving without adjustments.

  14. Expectations of the Oilers as a Stanley Cup contender are misguided. At the start of the year there was and remains a hole at 2LD, (Bouchard needs a solid NHL’er as his D partner). With injuries the depth scoring and bottom 6 continue to be an issue (how many years now?). Goaltending is also not top tier for a Stanley contender (and team defence). Misplaced expectations for a middle of the pack team is very much in action with evaluating this team. If the holes get filled (at the deadline or with returning players) maybe the dreams of Stanley have some merit but until then – middle of the pack team is what should be expected and evaluated as.

  15. Great how RNH has improved his shot (that was among worst in league prev 2 yrs/always missed the net) ! Good pick-up on Yama coasting in OT – says a lot about his mindset.. there for $ & not winning. Shame. Looking at all the goals against – does seem a theme of Oilers VERY often lazily swiping at the passing lane (make it look like checking vs actually checking). Not really committing to stopping the guy w puck or the guy they are expected to check… causing the next Oiler to not know who to check/coming off the guy they are checking.. Don't have to be that mean – just be committed to taking one man/ checking out of the play. It may be coaching or attitude?

  16. It’s at the point now where every time Nurse gets the puck my anxiety level goes up.

  17. Good thing Connor and Leon…every game. Bad thing…. the other 65% of the team. Urgency ~ this team needs an enema up it's rectum. The Dallas Stars are going to lay a can of whoop ass on this team if they don't improve over night. I dont see the Oilers beating any strong team in the playoffs this year…. they are not as cohesive as last year…..Duncan Keith was the piece we took for granted perhaps. The Oilers problems extend a lot further than line changes…but it is that type of malaise that plagues this team for sure.

  18. why would you pass the puck to nurse in OT when the two best goal scorers are on the ice?????Nurse has buddies that are trying to make him look like a hero instead of the zero he has become
