I had wondered if he didnt want the penalty because he worried if the refs noticed it should not have been called there would be a make up penalty later in the game. I guess not but in the moment maybe not going on the power play right then but risking a penalty kill later was of higher risk. Should not have been called in the first place and Avs still won so i am happy

I mean that power play won’t mean much in the grand scheme of things. Might go a long way having a franchise player on your team with that kind of character
