Hi guys, just got all comfy and warm to catch your podcast and boom there was your notification. Good game tonight. I too did not think our boys would pull out this win. Happy for janmark and fogle. Refs were a big bad thing.
Alot better effort tonight by the Oil. They really needed that. Now just keep it going. Happy for Janmark and the Nuge has been huge this season.

Skinner is doing very well in net …he’s solid!…now I understand that Oliver rodrigue is doing very well in Bakersfield …I think the oilers should bing up the Bakersfield goalie coach…I think he’s pretty good!

They came out flying, playing really well as a whole team right off the bat. McDavid had an extraordinarily quiet night, yet scored a goal. Just excellent effort by all. Why couldn’t we see more of this?

I Love how sour Bruce is on the Bettman points, agree with him, just like when Bruce gets riled up. Great game by the Oil. Also liked Davids Barrie/Nurse convo at the end, wish it would happen. New mic is great Bruce!

Guys first off: my good thing is Bruce‘s new microphone! I love your podcast but the occurring sound problems made it difficult to listen to it at times. I’ve always enjoyed your knowledgeable comments and good takes on oilers hockey and I’m glad to see your technology can slowly but surely keep up with it. One day you’re going to be on a (production) level with 32 thoughts. My bad thing is that I missed this game because I just couldn’t get up at 3:30am over here in Germany but thanks to condensed games and your podcast I feel like I didn’t miss much of the action. About Nurse and his belly flopping style: just imagine Hedman doing it. Or Makar. I don’t think I’ve ever seen them do it and I guess a good rule of thumb is if you never see them do something it’s probably not something a defenseman should do. And to your comment about wanting to see Drai on Team Canada, Dave, why don’t you cut us Germans some slack here? It’s been painful to watch Team Germany for many years and finally we can be excited about international tournaments. Imagine a Team with Draisaitl, Stützle and Seider on it. Sounds fun right? Plus there’s a lot of talented young players like Lukas Reichel and JJ Peterka who I think will make a name for themselves in the next couple of years.

Woodcroft made some good decisions on line combinations. When the Oilers play like this for 3 or 4 games in a row, then I’ll believe that they’ve actually changed their play. … Nurse is still not playing well (re: the TSN 1260 postgame show) – and he’s still going down around the net. Ceci is starting to copy him.
David, your rant on Nurse… absolutely spot on and warranted.
In my opinion, something is just not right with him, he's distracted or just trying too hard to be something other than he's not.
Hopefully, sooner before later, he can figure this out and get back to what he's initially known for.

With Nurse I feel like when he's slumping he's still leaned on. On deeper teams when a guy is slumping he can drop to a lower pairing for a while and people end up forgetting it later anyway. Or at least, reduced minutes. With Nurse he always plays a lot and I think it's not just coaching. The team is just not talented on defense. You can't have a top pairing of Kulak-Ceci. Every D on this team has had slumps but Nurse is the only one that can't be demoted
I wish Eddie Shore was back. Goalies now are required to drop before the shooter shoots. Oops missed another shot!
