  1. Lehk rules. Seeing him leave sucked. but… I can not complain about the prospect they got in return, and also seeing lehk play in an area where he can shine a little more.. makes me happy.

  2. We traded for stuff we would use in 2-3 years. So yeah, he's doing so well it looks like we lost that trade, but we could be very happy pretty soon. I'd do it again. Lekhonen would not have those kind of numbers here.

  3. Justin Barron is really picking up the pace as of late in the AHL. I think he is maturing nicely. I'm with you on this, win/win.

  4. Was That Dale Weiss Comment A Goof On My Chicago Blackhawks? (Fleischman & Weiss To Chicago For Danauglt To Montreal) LOL

  5. Uh let me put it this way. Lehkonen won the conference final AND had the Stanley Cup winning goal. The odds of almost any prospects directly leading to a cup win aren’t very high, so yes, Colorado won.

  6. This is a classic win-win as long as Barron becomes an NHL regular at some point. Avs got what exactly what they wanted from this trade and the Habs got a good prospect that still needs to take the next step.

  7. I'd say it's a 60% win for the Avs. Lehkonen was a cornerstone acquisition for them. He not only won the cup but he was heavily involved in winning it. People are saying we must wait to see how this trade turned out. My question is: Will Barron and the 2nd round pick be able to have a similar effect in due time? Being a major part in a Stanley Cup victory? I'm not too sure about that. Lehkonen simply had a tremendous impact, he was underrated in Montreal, just like Danault who was also a great defensive forward. IMO it was a mistake to trade Lehkonen, of all of the guys who left the team for the reconstruction, I thought Lehkonen should've stayed. His work ethic would've influenced the young players we have now in a very positive manner.

  8. Habs wouldn't have much use for Lehkonen right now as we aren't competing for a playoff spot. Barron is a great asset for the future where Lehkonen wouldn't be. I feel like he's a player who is most effective when playing with a high talent group. Allows his defensive game to shine and enables those players to do more aswell.

  9. nah man, everyone won. cept maybe barron.
lehk will rememebr us fondly, he has a cup. we fully developped him. thast a huge organizational win.
he may even resign here, but at the very least, we did right by him and players/agens notice this. mtl is quickly becoming an attractive place to sign with again.

  10. this was a good trade for both teams. Probably better for the Avs but not a bad deal for the Habs at all

  11. Barron should make is real NHL debut near the end of the season or next year.

  12. lehkonen probably wouldnt have developed into what he is now if he stayed with the habs, but i'd still say colorado won the trade

  13. Amazing what happens when players like Lehkonen get to play with good players 👌

  14. Lekhonen would have been useless to the Habs for this year and the next ones… since he's good playoff guy and we clearly rebuilding, it just made sense.

  15. yeah i love lekky but these people didnt saw him hitting goal post non stop he just got more confident in off zone but he always was good defence yah barron for lekky anyday of the week

  16. Lehky producing is exactly why we got so much for him. Win for the Avs, win for the Habs, win for Lehk.

  17. Do the Habs win the Cup with Lehkonen? No.
Do the Avs win the Cup without Lehkonen? Maybe. Maybe not.
Do the rebuilding Habs get what they want trading away a good player? Yes. They got a future top 5 Dman and a 2nd round pick.
Do the win-now Avs get what they want? Clearly, yes! They got an easy to like clutch winger who can win games when they Avs were actually looking for exactly that.
    Both teams won.
    Case closed.

  18. Colorado won this trade for sure. But habs didnt need Lehkonnen, Hughes could get more, Barron is not proven player.

  19. Barron is really getting better in the AHL so we can't judge the trade for a few years in my opinion (often takes longer for defensemen to develop than forwards,) I'm no expert on the Avs prospect but from what I've heard, he was their top prospect at defense. Oh and Barron is only 21 (27 for Lehkonen)

  20. Win/win for sure. Barron looks good and who knows what will come from the 2nd. Lehkonen seems to love playing with Rantanen and is a great fit for the team.

  21. I don’t think anyone lost the trade I think it worked evenly for both teams I think they were both winner to be honest there wasn’t a fleece on either side if I was a Colorado fan I’d be happy cause I have Makar Towes Byram and as a habs fan I’m happy with what we got and happy with what we gave up it wasn’t working for lekky in habs land

  22. And by the way JOHNNYYY LMAO I typed my comment right when the video started my opinion from the start both teams won

  23. I've been saying this for a long time.
Trade have to be judged team by team. there can be win-win, win-loss and loss-loss situations with trades.
