Very sad watching this team being just unable to stop the canes from scoring when they really want to is getting annoying.
At least I hope he won't be extended…
It's not even close to purely physical. He's slow with identification and execution of basic plays. He doesn't see obvious options. He looks confused with the puck. He's making unnecessary plays he never used to do.
Yeah the skating's deteriorated but you can still be a serviceable shutdown defenseman when you're slower. Maatta proved that.
His puck management and poor reaction time to developing threats is what's hurting him the most this season.
How many times this year has he been a step out of reach of his check on danger men close to the net? He just takes too long to decide everything.
I know there paying Brian a lot on his last year. But when do you say enough is enough and scratch them for somebody else. Merry Christmas DK have a safe holiday
