Sids game has so many more dimensions than ovi if I was picking someone to build a team around I’d pick Sid. Especially given how important having an elite center is in controlling the middle. If I had a decent playmaker already slotted that played a complimentary role in being defensively responsible like a Bergeron/Datsyuk I’d take Ovi.
Syd maybe the more complete player but he’s also missed 168 games in his career and ovi has missed 44 only 24 of which were due to injury. Not saying that’s the difference maker but durability has to be taken into account

Might be a cop out answer, but I’d say it depends on the team around them. Caps have had two elite centers in kuzy and backstrom that creatively feed OV. Pens have had a bunch of wingers over the years that battle and compliment Sid well and are made exponentially better by Sid. Sid and OV are both different players and even when they were first coming into the league, comparing them is apples to oranges
