I would like to note that McDavid, after expressing disappointment with the Oilers, has been criticized by some Edmonton fans for not being a two-way player. So the next time I hear a Sabres fan rag on Olofsson, I'm going to treat that with the scorn it deserves.
Let's stop viewing injuries as a complete negative. One player's injury is another player's opportunity.
We don't need to get meaner, but we do need to get more physical. We need to forecheck and backcheck. We need to take the body instead of waving our sticks. We cannot sit back when we're short-handed, we need to challenge each puck handler. The better we play defensively and the less time opponents spend in our zone, the better our goaltenders' stats will be.
This season is ALREADY a success. Even if we don't make the playoffs, we're going to end up in a better place than we've been used to over the last several seasons.
We really do not need to bring in outside help just for the sake of shaking things up. Let's develop what we already have. If management decides we really need a tough guy, let's bring in a proven tough guy and pay him to be tough. If management decides we need an upgrade on defense, let's bring in someone worth having, and not just a stopgap journeyman. Goaltenders? We're not gonna get anyone at this stage who is worth having. Development what we have.

Sabres need two responsible, veteran blue liners, to transform this lineup into one that will make the playoffs with strong physical play and hits, AND do damage in the playoffs. Two more Lyubushkin, RHD/LHD notwithstanding. Then we'll be a tough team to score on that also scores a ton, just gotta replace Pilut and Bryson.
There's no other sport with such a stark contrast in the game between regular season and playoffs; playoff hockey is almost a whole different sport than regular season, altogether
I would like the Habs to stop looking at Devon Levi unless they are willing to give us both 1st rounders they have (unprotected) and Cole Caulfield.
With your pick at 9 to have Sabres get meaner so far from the number 1 with make the playoffs and go deep. Going deep can only happen with the grit. Now my add to that list is to make Home the White jerseys again. I really don't like the dark as home. Great vid Roam
