Looking at some of the footage of the snowstorm in buffalo looks apocalyptic.
As much as I miss Sabres hockey (go figure right?!) this break is necessary given the safety precautions. But also this definitely helps Buffalo's injuries to Jokiharju, Bryson, and Power. The rest is more than welcome.

I have no idea this Boxing Day must be like CAndian April Fools Joke? Macelli sounds like will have a nice vacation. Bjugstad is player on Coyotes I want Kings to trade for or even Seattle Kraken as is 6'6 C/RW who can play PK or PP with 15 to 20 minutes a game. Really surprised he is only making 900K for a 1st round pick that has scored over 20 goals. People so soft giving up playing games when used to have school in Blizzards. Had those other games too. Should have made them play today for the postponed games other day. NHL like not even a major sport as NFL had Xmas Games even Xmas Eve. NBA I think has games but nothing until Tuesday? Least not had to cancel an outdoor game yet. Can't wait till Bruins get Swept in PLayoffs :).

have mixed feelings on the Sabres games being postponed. I am going through hockey withdrawals. Also I am worried about us loosing some of that momentum we have built up. On the other hand maybe this break gives some of our guys time to rest & heal up, and we come back even stronger. But with all that being said safety is a huge concern, and there are just more important things going on in the city than Hockey or Football (because the Bills were, stuck in Rochester for a while because they couldn't fly into Buffalo after their game in Chicago)
As a Buffalo native I must say for a storm (something Buffalo is more than prepared & equipped for usually) to interfere this much you know it's serious. The houses near the lake are encased in Ice, emergency services can't get to anyone, the plows are having trouble clearing streets due to the amount of abandoned vehicles, much of the city doesn't have power (my family back home spent their Christmas stuck in the house playing board games because everything was down). The grocery stores are all closed in the area and have been for a couple days, probably will be until Wed-Thurs, we've got looting going on to boot. And Buffalo alone counts for like half of the national death toll for this storm. I've lived through so many Buffalo Blizzards, and this one is just feels so different. The closest thing I can compare it to was the October Storm back in like 06. But this is worse.
Any word on Valeri Nichushkin? Upper body injury this time? I think the NFL stopped doing upper body and lower body reports 15 years ago.

It will be interesting to watch Buffalo out of the gate (assuming they play) on Thursday. Big divisional game against Detroit, who currently sit just 1 spot and point ahead of the Sabres in the standings. 10-day layoff for Buffalo, hopefully it doesn't halt their recent momentum.
The news about Maccelli is truly upsetting, kid was making a solid case for calder consideration. A real bright spot in AZ. Hope to see him back soon.

It was the craziest storm I've ever been in and I'm 31. You couldn't even see your hand in front of your face and my glove turned to ice right away. It was like that movie the day after tomorrow. Haha

When people in buffalo are saying we got hammered hard by this storm…. you know its bad. Most people in buffalo have too much pride to let the weather get to us, but everyone is saying this one was bad.
Maccelli could not win rookie of the year anyways, because he is not North American, no matter if he would have improved his goal scoring.
Ok back in action tonight some good battles in the Metro Caps vs Rangers, Pens vs Islanders…we have Wild vs Jets in the Central and battle of Alberta always contentious both teams fighting to stay above the line .
I'm hoping they reschedule for sometime around January 9th-11th. Can you call the nhl and make that happen?
