  1. The only stats that matter. His Birth day is 11. That's Captain and Center's Mark Messier's number. He was born during 1993, the season year (93-94) they won a stanley cup. And 7. Worn on the arms this year of Mr Ranger's Rod Gilbert. Think, it's preordaned.

7, Rangers wore this number and finally made it into the play offs for years. 11. Messier, the man who guaranteed a win. 1993 the season that would end the 50+ year drought.

    It's written in the stars.

Also we need an older player because our team is younglings, we need a guy who can teach the padawans.

  2. Wow copp was good gave up a TON for him for a rental … 1st a 2nd a 3rd and he was good . Dude all the numbers was funny .it was written in the stars that the rangers screwed up .

  3. The pressure in N.Y. plus, his style will make him a different kinda player… Big Mistake in my honest opinion.. He's not a big guy.. Well, there goes the chemistry.. Copp was a better fit..

  4. They’re in win now mode so I don’t get why everyone cares so much about the length. They have about a 3-4 year window and he’s a good 2 way center who actually wins faceoffs. He’s gonna be on a line with Panarin too so I can only see his production go up.

  5. Pretty good signing. They don’t care about term length because at this price they can trade him. The Rangers will be cup contenders next year.

  6. Fantastic move by Drury. There was no need to run after aged Patrick Kane and Toews. Other players on Winnipeg Jets were way to high price wise. This was a no brainer. A great 2-way Center excellent on face-offs. I thought he was staying with Canes but I guess not. Huge blow to them. Big gain for us. 😊

  7. I would have felt better at five. He is getting close to six. He might be worth it at five if he stays healthy

  8. He’s exactly what they needed. A legitimate 2C and an obvious upgrade over Ryan Strome. I would have loved for them to keep Copp but he had his heart set on going home and playing for his Red Wings. Rangers got a good player at a good price. That term though… yikes!

  9. Ok now if the rangers don’t win the cup in the 3 years they kinda suck they are a Stanley cup team and I’m a ranger fan but I think they will win the cup

  10. Lmao I was just thinking yea jeez he’s 29, getting a bit old… I’m turning 29 in September

  11. They are paying for 29 year old Vinnie not looking at when he is 36. So as in a we want to win now move great job

  12. No doubt his production will go way up I expect 80-90 point range the next fours anyway with Panarin he gave us fits in the playoffs he is definitely hard to play against he is definitely better than the 2C guy for TB probably not as good as Avs or Edm but he wins face offs plays with and edge and shuts down the opposition top line after four years he drops down to the 3C role a lot better than trusting that Bum Chytl with 2C he could badly handle the 3C role

  13. He is way better than Strome Or Copp they are really 3C on a cup winning team Dach is to much risk PLD is not being traded off the board and all you are doing is paying money you still have assets to make a huge move come before the season or during the season

  14. 7 years is too long but if you're the Rangers you kind of had no choice.

Panarin has 4 years left on his deal. Shesterkin has a 4 year contract kicking in next season at just 5.6 million AAV. Zibanejad is already getting close to 30 and Kreider is no spring chicken. For this type of contract you just have to accept that it will look terrible in the last 2 years because you have to go all-in while you still have Panarin, Zibanejad, and Kreider in their primes and Shesterkin on such a team-friendly deal.

  15. It will take him to age 35 – and he has a 12 team NTC starting in 2025-26, decreasing to 6 teams in the last year. Also the numbers (salary/sb) decreases in the 2nd half of the contract. This will be a pretty tradable contract.

    PS: Trocheck > Copp

  16. It really doesn’t make sense to me, why they didn’t just make a deal with copp who took the same amount and already built some chemistry
