    Good game

Wish the coach would do something about the PP since clearly it’s not “too good” to break up

Also wish we would hit the net but I also wish for a lot of things I’ll never have

  2. BarmyDevonian

Happy with the performance. Great hockey game. Could have gone either way.

Vasilevskiy is a wall but Shesty matched him the whole way. Shame Kakko hit the post because he had him.

Most frustrating thing was missed opportunities to shoot. Think you need a lucky bounce to beat a goalie like that and for all the chances there weren’t enough bodies in front.

Also even in good games there’s more gaps in d-zone coverage this year. Still far better 65 min + effort. Keep playing like this and good results will follow.

Sammy Blais missing an open net a child would be expected to score on in what ended up being a 1-1 game was really fun to witness.

  4. Jmeyers08

Frustrating game. See you guys in 2023.

  5. HowardHughes529

My favorite part was the wide open shot that Blais took 20 seconds to contemplate before shooting. I think I’m the second.

  6. sagmoon21

No excuse to not win the whole thing during that OT powerplay honestly. Turk should focus on setting a day aside to force everyone to practice shooting and get that accuracy up significantly vs just scratching young guys and thinking that’ll help in any way.

But all in all was an entertaining game, mostly good effort and I’ll take the point so onto the next

  7. E_man123

They should just shoot at the net for practice for the next week

  8. UsedToBeBradfordTwo

Do they do a team wide eye exam at the start of every season? They should consider doing one mid season because there are a few guys on this squad who need their prescriptions adjusted

  9. Tommybrady20

Tell me one good reason why kakko or Fil can’t have a PP1 slot

  10. KingInDaNorf1996

    Last two games in Tampa

    Bench Kakko for Hunt

    Bench Laf for Blais

This organization is a joke from top to bottom

  11. Waverly_pl

Feel bad for Kenny, has he called a win this season?

  12. Tommybrady20

I have truly been annoyingly critical of Laf… but you can’t tell me you don’t increase your odds to win tonight if he’s playing and not the corpse of Sammy Blais.

That game was inches, not feet.

The more people who can play hockey in the lineup, the better.

  13. Quirky_Yak_3225

Ppl say we got goalied or the goalie stood on his head just bc we may have a lot of SOG. Gets annoying af listening to these morons.

  14. Pepperoni_playboi94

A lot of weird stuff surrounding the younger guys and gallant. It’s no wonder nils left for Dallas. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if some of the kids left after this season

A good power play line keeps possession of the puck in the offensive zone and prevents the opposing team from getting a change, making them drained and unable to properly defend, *while cycling fresh players in to keep the power play going strong*.

A **bad** power play line keeps possession of the puck in the offensive zone and never cycles for fresh players, ***making themselves just as drained as the opposition.***

Good game overall, Laffy probably would have buried that open netter, and we just petered out by the end of the game. They need to work on shooting, though, they’re wild with missing. Shitty way to end the year, though. We’re only 2 points ahead of the Isles for the last wild card spot and they have a game in hand.

  16. Jay21moose

It’s a point against a good Lightning team that I don’t understand how is as many as 9 points behind the Bruins in the Atlantic.

We had our chances- big W against Panthers on Sunday.

  17. VALIS666

Hell of a game. Both teams playing hard in every corner and side wall all night, holding a nasty grudge since spring. Sucks we lost, but it’s a shootout so it’s barely half a loss. :p

Take note of the dipshits who are trying to blame this game on this or that or whatever narrative. Rangers played great. Lightning played great. Generationally good team eked out a win in SO. OH NO!

  18. obvioussponge06

Outside of the Laf scratch and the PP issues, there’s no shame in losing a skills comp to Andrei Vasilevskiy. I’ll gladly take any point we can get against this team, especially at Amalie.

Key and Braden are just…delightful to watch.

  19. pick69itshilarious

Time to lose a few games and have the entire fan base call for the Coach’s job and then go on an 8 game win streak

    🙃

  20. kingfarouk

Damn I really hate losing these games, oh well onto our next Florida game on Sunday

  21. SomethingSmooth

With every game Blais comes closer to the records of most games as a Rangers forward without a goal.

    1. Shane Churla (55)

    2. Habs Milks (48)

    3. Sammy Blais (45!)

It will truly be historic when Sammy Blais crosses the threshold into being the worst Rangers forward of all time. God Bless Gallant, and God Bless the New York Rangers

  22. JaxCarter22

Lmaoo at all the comments.. oh well till next game boys

  23. UsedToBeBradfordTwo

Sammy Blais was definitely the kid who never showed up to class all semester, and when the group project was due he comes in at the last minute to do the bare minimum and get his participation credit

  24. New_Capital3267

Trouba always sounds like he’s on the verge of tears during a post loss interview.

  25. Team is not gonna make the same noise in playoffs this year the way they’re playing and that’s even if they make playoffs. And that’s a Big if… Zero fire and zero consistency in their game. They walked into this season like their shit don’t stink and now they have the 3rd stinkiest shit in the metro

  26. HannTwistzz

Lightning fan here. GG but what happened to your PP. Last season and the playoffs it was like almost unstopable and now you guys can’t generate a good look on a 4 v 3 with the amount of weapons you have. Also what’s up with the second unit getting like 10 seconds

  27. Never_Forget_94

We are 6th in the division right now…

  28. Tommybrady20

I think directing the blame at the PP is wrong… sort of.

Obviously it sucks right now but the larger problem is 5v5. Nobody cares about the PP blowing a tire in Primetime when it matters if you win that game 3-1.

The team has been fraudulent 5v5 for a good month plus now… which is why we’re all hyper fixated on the PP because we don’t want but NEED it to be elite to win hockey games

  29. IHSCOUTII1973

We played well. 46 SOG is nothing to go home moping about. And, this is one of the few times where saying « we got goalied » is actually legitimate – Vasilevsky played out of his mind, as did Shesterkin. No matter who’s better between the two of them, they will both be at their best when playing each other.

But we have to look at the bigger picture here – we’re 6th in the division, yes only separated from the second place Devils by 2 points, but we’re ahead in games and don’t play again until Sunday. In the meantime, either the Devils or Penguins has a guaranteed win tomorrow, as the two teams will play each other. As I’ve said before, there will be a good team that will miss the playoffs in this division. It may seem like small potatoes now, but unless you’re Philly or Columbus, whether or not you make the playoffs in the end will likely come down to a difference of 5 points or less. Going forward, we NEED to be getting wins and showing the league, the fans and the team itself that the 7 game heater was not a fluke. That means winning games we’re supposed to win as well as the ones we aren’t supposed to win.

As for this Lafreniere drama, regardless of how we played, we need him back in the lineup. GG already proved with Kravtsov that he will keep players looking to prove themselves out of the lineup for extended periods of time because he « liked how the team played ». We need to maintain consistent lines for pretty much the rest of this season if we want any chemistry building between these players. That means we have to put someone who obviously isn’t our worst forward back into the lineup.

  30. Tommybrady20

Irrelevant side thought- man i thought Fil would end it in the shootout.

That move wasn’t very good. A shot from fil would’ve been more dangerous.

  31. redchester

PP1 should be Fox, Panarin, Zib, Kakko, Kreider. 2 Schneider Trocheck, Chytil, Laf, Krav. Swap Chytil and Kakko sometimes. Vets aren’t gettin it done let the kids try more.

  32. JessoRx

I was thoroughly entertained by that game. I thought we brought a lot of good game against a really good team playing very well in their house.

  33. music_chris

We are out of a playoff spot atm

  34. terithegreat

Really hard to be upset about a game like this, but it’s a strong possibility a good team in the Metro misses the playoffs this year… would love to start winning some of these tighter matches.

  35. I__Need__Scissors_61

People seem to think I’m being unfair in my criticism of Gallant. That is fair. We’re all entitled to our opinions here.

Can someone actually tell me why we should believe that Gallant is the right guy, now and for the future?

  36. SleazeWizard

Still way too many missed shots and failed breakaways
