Dorion is working to improve the D. There were rumours of a Chychrun trade, but the ask ended up being too much. Maybe Arizona will budge later. There were also talks of a trade for Weegar (FLA) or Marino (PIT). And then a one year free agency contract for Klingberg was also in the rumour mill.
The rumoured price for Jakob Chychrun was:
– Ottawa’s 2023 1st round pick (unprotected)
– Thomson OR Bernard-Docker
– Sokolov OR Greig
…. and I forget what the fourth piece was. And supposedly Dorion was trying to also unload Zaitsev’s contract in that trade, which meant Arizona wanted an additional 2nd round pick (+?).

Pierre Dorion is a very underrated GM.
I don't think people realized how difficult it has been dealing with Melnyk (RIP) after Bryan Murray (rip) passed.
But now that Pierre has been given more funds and decision-making power, he can really show off his managing ability.
all the sens need now is for that arena to be built

Yes they will. Boston will regress. Toronto may be vulnerable with their goalies. Washington still had Ov but getting older overall. Won’t be easy but possible especially if they finally get a good start to the season.

Expectations in Ottawa are for Sanderson to play top 4 next season. He looks ready for it. We will see more of him in training camp/pre season. If they add a top 4 defenseman I would have them making playoffs. If they don't I still think it's possible but only if Sanderson makes an immediate impact.
I think the Sens will shock many people. No SC but definitely playoff bound. Just happy there is finally light at the end of this long window. Just a quick fact…with Sens buying out Colin White contract, the Sens have officially no players left of that 2017 playoff run. Colin White played 1…yes only 1 playoff game (I believe it was in the Penguins series).
Great off-season so far, but what is Dorion going to do with his 22nd-ranked defence? He already lost Brown who’s a good defensive forward. Talbot (.911) is slight upgrade over Murray (.906), but he’s 35. Will Sanderson be ready for top-four responsibility straight out from college?
You got to also look at Detroit sad to say as a Sens fan Detroit makes it and goes far. We are not catching Toronto Florida and Tampa.

i dont think it will help them long term. its a quick fix to get the fans back and some excitement but i dont think it helps long term giving uo draft picks. Chances are Debrincket will be gone in a year or two

Sens are looking scary! Think they could bring home a cup in a couple years. I really like the team they put together and how young the core is, reminds me a bit of Colorado a few years ago. I think they make the playoffs this year. Gustavsson could be a star in Minnesota’s defensive system, Kid definitely has a talent to be a starting goalie although he had a rough year last year. Talbot will help the senators immediately so I see that trade is a win-win for both clubs
