Hell yea it's popular out here. Besides, it's hard not to be with the Sharks here.
It doesn't hurt that the Sharks is the only Major sports team we have. We're stuck rooting for San francisco teams or Oakland teams. They both suck in all their major sports and the Sharks own them all.
Sabercats as well. Though I guess you may not call the AFL a "major Sport".

What is the hockey world like in San Jose, CA? is it anything like Anaheim or Los Angeles? Sharks have probably won of the best regular season winning percentages over the last few seasons. Drew Remenda does commentary for the Sharks right? Are there lot's of Shark fans in San Jose? the Tank always seems full, what's it like at a Sharks game? who are their biggest rivals?
Thats alot of questions to ask.. Well, first of all, people knew San Jose because of the Sharks.
Second, There are more hockey fanatics in Northern Cal than in the South.
Third, behind the Red Wings, the Sharks are u typical hockey powerhouse in the past 5 yrs.
Fourth, Drew Remenda is one of a heck color analyst.
Fifth, U wont gunna see any other fans hockey fans here in San Jose rather than the Sharks fans.
Sixth, U better watch Sharks game urself and u'll see the difference. DUCKS SUX!!

this was my first sharks game, hooked ever since. bought the ticket about 20 minutes before the game started from the box office for 75 dollars. lower bowl row 9. all by myself and new to SJ. walked to the tank from sjsu not even thinking i would get a ticket, i just wanted to experience the atmosphere. got lucky. i absolutely love the sharks, i love the walk from the parking garage at san pedro square to the tank, i get goose bumps. i love climbing the stairway after the main doors. i love the shark head and i love the goal horn. thank you Sharks! #SanJoseSharks
