Coach needs to be harder on players (coughMillercough) with a lack of work ethic. Nobody should be getting free rides here. Like Bieksa said, can’t defend that shit.
Good they need to be highlighting his lazy back checks and changes, they’re awful. Dude should be embarrassed that he signed such a huge deal that tanks the teams chances for a competitive roster when he clearly doesn’t care to give it his all. Oof.
The fact he wears an A and consitently puts in that level of effort and shows a “i dont give af” attitude is a disgrace. We were blessed with the Sedins and that leadership group. Bieksa saying “he can’t defend” JT’s behaviour/mentality should tell everyone what they need to know. A former captain (legend) of this team saying he can’t back up the actions of one of the current captains. Wow.
This is a microcosm of the poor defensive play. It needs to be rooted out. Leadership in this team needs to demonstrate that this is unacceptable.
It’s obvious Bieksa won’t defend that considering he basically played his entire career with Ryan Kesler.
Kesler and Miller are the same kind of curmudgeonly assholes on the ice, but the main difference is Kesler backs up his attitude and talk with his play.

there’s no accountability. He consistently spent more effort yelling at teammates than actually playing the game. It’s not just the turnovers. It’s the fact he just gives up afterwards and coasts towards the bench.
