Cooper changed the material of the outer shell from nylon like material to more of a cloth material. Other colors were available, not just black. They also had a short pant version that you still wore socks with. CCM had their version as well, but I don’t remember what they were called.

Copper -alls = the vaunted hockey pants which were then blamed for the vaunted hockey rash.
The Cooperalls were worse. But these helmets are not good. The gold looks cheap, like something a prostitute's outfit would be made of – though considering it's Vegas, maybe that's exactly what they're going for. In any case, when Don Cherry is criticizing your choice of haberdashery, you know you've messed up.
In the Finnish SM-Liiga the player who has scored the most points for his team always wears a golden helmet, whereas the other players wear their normal colors. It's a sponsorship thing.

I think they may be too much. But the gold does look good for the goal tender mask. It stands out cause it’s nowhere else on the uniform with that shine finish. I like the gray but the gold is cautiously ok.
