Well Canucks would have to give up Petey + 1st .. I don't think any team would give up Bedard cuz teams would for want more for him prob even tho Petey still young 43 pts in 33 Gp +11.
I wouldn't give up any more then that tho if ur Vancouver considering Petey #1 guy on the team without doubt and should have been #1 In the 2017 class.
Petey is no Gretzky but had compliments by the man himself if Vancouver said petey is an untouchable you'd have to question if ur the other team what Petey + another prospect would do for you're team if Conor doesn't want to play there.
miller besser demko podkolzin &20mill
him and pettersson would tear up the nhl
Not gunna happen. Bedard going to Anaheim.
You do know he can easily sign to the Canucks after his entry level contract right lol
Interesting theory. BTW, it’s North Vancouver, not “Northern Vancouver”.
Forgive me for sounding stupid but can't Bedard skip the draft and sign for Vancouver undrafted? Please cN someone who knows what they are talking about explain what I may not know
#MuthaFuckinYYYYYYYOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Kevin “Heavy Chains” Forte back with another banger. DRUNK edition.
I sincerely doubt he (or anyone right now) WANTS to play for the Coyotes… OR the Ducks.
I don't see it. This is a really risky maneuver by a player. I think you want to go into the NHL classy and not piss off any of the fans. You want them to cheer for you and support you even if he doesn't play on their favourite team the way most people are pretty thrilled to watch McDavid or Tage Thompson etc.
Vancouver needs to make up its mind on whether they want to tank or make the playoffs because being in no-mans-land is the worst place to be in hockey.
Power had the same rumours about Buffalo and they were clearly not true. And honestly, not going to Buffalo would have been huge mistake – they will win a cup in the future. Adams is building through the draft properly and signing contracts at really nice rates to build a competitive team. Reminds me of Colorado, Tampa, Pittsburgh, etc.
I will say this, I don't think Chicago or Anaheim would be great places for Bedard. Chicago still has a shadow over its head, and Anaheim has the worst culture for years now. I'd like to see him go to Columbus because he can win immediately there and Columbus has a lot of great young talent in their system already that they would not need to tank any more to make a very competitive roster. Maybe they need a goalie – that's it.
He's wants to play for vancouver only Hopefully Dropped to vancouver canucks make the number 1 trade
Bernard with pettersson Kuzmenko wowi
cant happen in todays nhl cap era. I like the idea but its never going to happen.
It can also be called A Vesey And A Fox. Go Rangers! LOL
That might be A ? With Vesey. LOL
Cheers. An Early Happy New Year.
I give you Permission to Say that you took A Drink For My 61st Birthday. LOL
Thank God that didn't happen, as A Rangers Fan. Although I liked Eric Lindos, I didn't like Him That Much. LOL
I'd like to see that, if My Chicago Blackhawks don't get Him. I'd love to see My Rangers get Wright, to see Brendan Othmann And He (or, Him) Play Together
Lindros didn’t want to go to a specific team just away from the Nordiques. They were a terrible organization at the time. Doubt Bedard would be able to force his way to VCR because they’re a terrible team without enough clout. He may have enough pull to avoid a Columbus or Anaheim though
Honestly? I hope so. It's about time someone actually lobbied to come here instead of ownership or management driving them out of town. Many of our most beloved and talented players, from Cam Neely to Trevor Linden to Pavel Bure were mistreated by the franchise, driven out of the city and kicked in the gonads on the way out. The rare times someone actually does want to stay here, they're 30 years old, a cancer in the locker room, lazy as hell and given an enormous long term contract. Of course JT Miller wants to be here. Nobody else would have given him that money. I'm sure that's why the Ranger deal didn't go through. They remembered what he was like before he started scoring. The Rangers themselves in the late 90s and early 2000s were a perfect example of why having the most talented team on paper doesn't necessarily guarantee anything. In fact, it makes you a country club for millionaires. The Canucks right now are the cap equivalent of that. We have a bunch of overpaid, underachieving, lazy players here. I appreciate that Connor wants to come and play in his hometown, but I'd consider exercising better judgment. You want a decorated career, Connor? Stay the hell out of Canada. Go somewhere where the league will allow you to win a championship and franchises aren't so obsessed with making the playoffs now that they mismanage the future so that the team tops out at mediocrity. The Leafs, Flames and the Oilers aren't winning the Cup either. There's no incentive for the league to allow that. Canada is a captive market. We generate most of the NHL's money, win or lose. If the Canes or any of the California or Florida teams struggle, they have to be bailed out through revenue sharing by us. The NHL is a Corporate America lesson in and of itself. Capitalize the gains, socialize the losses. But I appreciate that he actually wants to play here. I'm from Vancouver and I wouldn't. If I worked hard enough and got lucky enough to be in his position, I'd want to win. Send me to a team that wins the draft lottery but isn't that far away from the playoffs – somewhere in the US. I can always buy a home with my millions in Vancouver for the offseason. Playing here, where the league hates us and management and ownership perpetually screw us going back to the John McCaw days and before, wouldn't be high on my priority list. Maybe later in my career, after I have a few Cup rings and an oversized bank account. I'd do it the John Tavares way – except I'd make sure I'd at least a ring before I came up to Canada. He's certainly not getting one now. You go to America to make money and win a championship. You come to Canada either because you're not good enough, you're late in your career or some team is stupid enough to overpay for you – just ask JT Miller.
As a Canucks fan, I hope the kid stays far far away from this gong show for the sake of his own long term health and well being.
Colorado wasn't in on Lindros. They didn't exist yet then. The Nordiques soon moved to Colorado and became the Avs. They quickly won 2 Cups because of the haul they got for Lindros. That and their acquisition of Patrick Roy.
man you are butchering those names
Blues GM and coaches tryin their hardest to tank for Bedard. I don’t believe in tanking. Ticket sales also tank and then what.
As a Canuck fan, I would love to see Bedard in Canuck gear, but for his sake, I hope another team would have him and win some chips with him. The Canucks as an organization is a terrible franchise – ownership and management have no vision and no plan to build a club that is consistently a contender. Any time there is someone who actually does (aka Trevor Linden), the club kicked him to the side and called his firing an "amicable departure." Until ownership changes, this team does not deserve a generational talent like Bedard.
If I draft someone first overall and they refuse to play for my team, guess he's not playing for anyone.
As a loooong time Canuck fan, why on earth would he want to come to Vancouver! No chemistry, no identity, no toughness, cup cursed. Makes a great story but his agent and his parents won't let him sign a home town contract. If Pat Quinn was still around it could have been a possibility. Depends on Canuck contracts, no trade etc. Miller, Boeser, Horvat all could go, All their D-men except Shenn and Hughes too. Start to build some character maybe.
Go have some more drinks
