Guys ended the year great but maybe a bit too great. I’d like to think they threw a big party and Andy went to bed at 9 and had to tell everyone to go to bed around 3am because that’s sure how they played
Not scoring on the 5v3 and giving up a goal on their only powerplay opportunity was the difference maker. Also they were super sloppy all game with bad puck decisions all night.

Looked tired, passes off, few real threats, not on the point at all.
In the game thread someone said something about them probably going out, I wouldn’t be surprised, and I wouldn’t blame them, but unfortunately, they look a little worse for it if that was the case

They may have emotionally exhausted themselves beating the Bruins. Hopefully they’ll rest up and be ready for the trip to DC.

Ugly game. Looked gassed. Lot to learn from this game, buuuuut if that is what our ugly games looks like, its a clear sign this team is improving.

Not the worst game they could have played on a back to back. About even at 5-on-5 but they squandered their power play opportunities.
And I know the 4th line was the line that scored, but tonight may have been a good night to give Okposo a maintenance day and plug in Hinostroza for a little more speed and energy against a young and fast Ottawa team.

Should look into getting a goalscorer soon. We apparently lack people of the scoring caliber.

Granato is weird with how deploys lines late in games. Shortening the bench and playing 37 and 71 is quite the choice.
Either way, wasn’t a great game, no finish, guys looked exhausted. Frustrating to have that game yesterday and then deflate to this. Kudos to Ottawa for playing us hard. Bad loss for us, we needed to make up all the points we could get.

Obviously not the outcome you hope for. Lots of sloppy play. Thompson looked really bad to me, just really lacked that pop he normally brings.
Looking forward to Donny’s post game comments. Curious to hear his take.

Ah well. 6 games in a row was hood momentum for this team to build on. Rest up and be ready for Washington on Tuesday

Need to bounce back with a win. Can’t lose 2 in a row again for the rest of season.
