#YoooooOOOOOooooo
As a Sens fan, I’m not all that interested in trading for Wild Bill Karlsson. Or Tyson Barrie.
Does Dorion gamble and wait to see if any free agents (like Forsberg) are interested in coming to Ottawa? The gamble is if you wait to see, those guys available via trade may already be moved. And of course that 7th overall would be the most coveted piece Ottawa uses in a trade. That would no longer exist if you wait until free agency. It’s a tricky line. And I think Dorion is more inclined to make a trade.
In his end of season press conference, Pierre talked about how not every free agent wants to go to Ottawa with our market and tax laws. He added it is easier to trade for a guy with a couple years left on his contract. Gonna be a VERY interesting off-season for The Sens. Personally, I want to keep the 7th overall pick.
Re: The new arena. We’ve been through this before. I’ll believe it when shovels break ground. But the good news is, Melnyk isn’t around to fuck it up this time.
(Kevin, you’re not at all offending Sens fans if you say something negative about Melnyk. Yes, it’s polite to not speak ill of the dead. But let’s face reality; he was greatly despised by the fan base. We don’t need to all pretend he was liked just because he died. Many of us will always remain thankful that he saved the franchise way back, but he was a meddling and inept owner who always had his hands in too many jars. That’s simple fact.)
