  1. We'll see what the future brings. I'm hopeful we can get a stellar 2LD who is DEFENSIVE at a great price who isn't a rental. Uncle Kenny will have to get creative. Let's see what we see when the time is right. Great vid as always. Take care all.

  2. Gavrikov and Klingberg make the most sense as pending UFAs, especially if we can get CBJ or ANA to eat half of the salary. If I recall correctly the cap hit gets prorated as we get deeper into the season and we could use whatever space gets freed by trading JP plus whatever the cost is to acquire Gavrikov or Klingberg. I could be wrong though since the Oilers are deep into LTIR and I think that makes it dollar in dollar out no matter who it is. I'd still like to see Karlson come to Edmonton. I can't remember who I saw it from but the idea of putting him with Nurse to be the smooth passer will free up Nurse to be a bit more grit and sandpaper like he was earlier in his career or to be activated in a more offensive role on the rush.

  3. If Holland old had a clue how to run a team if that was any other gm jp be gone for long ago time to fire Holland

  4. Of course Kostin would go for a workout after a hockey game on new years eve. he is a madman

  5. Glad that Kane is weeks away from returning back to ice, Probably bring in a Domi & Gavrikov would be a simple way to fix up the Lineups.

  6. Holy shit Oilers take the hit and send Jesse home and stop trying to trade him ! Because No NHL teams wants him ! Get real and save the season now Oilers ! Plus trade Campbell another waste of money ✊🏽💯🇨🇦

  7. This is excellent news for the Oilers. I hope Kostin gets some chances to play with McDavid.
Doesn't matter how JP's statistic be, the Oilers is not going to resign him this off-season. So I rather Holland got a 4th round pick by the deadline rather than nothing.

  8. 1) Gavrikov interests me
    2) Lafferty is a non starter
    3) No to Mccabe
    4) Domi is intriguing., He's not the Oilers biggest need, but he does fill depth scoring
    5) Edmunson is a bandaid, but one that could help
    6) Klingberg isn't going to happen, as much as it would move the needle. The money simply doesn't work.

  9. Kostin should get a few games on the first line. Oil D is still a huge soft joke. Campbell better then Koskinen?? A person would have to be mega delusional at this point to think thats realistic. Funny to see all the "fire Holland" crys. Same people demanded Larson and Russell be run out, and wow could the Oil use them now. So here they are, yet again, trying to recover from some really bad moves from Woody, who decided they weren't worth bringing back, leaving Holland stuck with how to fix the utterly needless gaps he helped create. Same old Same old..

  10. Great news on both Kostin and Drai. Bison King must go. Even for low draft pic. A tough defensive defenceman is required. May also be time to try Kosin with 97 as the PJ looks out of place against the jets. Keep the vids rolling.

  11. I can see Holland dumping Jesse for a draft pick, hopefully a second rounder but more then likely a third.
I really like Jesse's game but he doesn't seem to have any puck luck this year.

  12. If Holland looks to acquire Klingberg, I would want to send both Jesse P and Yamamoto to Anaheim. And maybe another player on a cheap contract or a minor league player and a draft pick. The problem is Yamamoto has one extra year left on his deal compared to Jesse, and both guys are eligible for arbitration at the end of their respective deals. It's somewhat of a risk for any of the other teams to take either contract.

Jesse for Gavrikov doesn't sound like too bad of a deal, but it might take other players from both sides in order to make the deal actually work. Or getting a third team that has at least $10M in cap space involved to take some cap relief off both teams.

Domi could help "shore up" our bottom 6. I think RNH plays better as a winger than as a center. Chicago has almost $6M in cap space, maybe more if they can move out either Kane or Toews. So Jesse for Domi doesn't sound too bad. However, the Oilers may have to throw a prospect and a draft pick, or another player under contract on the active roster (like maybe Devin Shore) if they want to free up a little space for their own Kane to come back.

That's just my thoughts. Will any of these scenarios play out? Not likely, but it's still interesting to speculate.

  13. Niemeleinen has been quite a lot better than Broberg & Bouchard (-12). It would not hurt the team for Pulju(3goals, -11) or Holloway(1, -5) or Yama(2) to go to minors.. but would hurt if they removed Janmark or Ryan… both have been quite helpful.
