Apologies but I couldn’t find a team photo of the penguins outside like the bruins 😭
The Bruins threw back to the 1920s baseball keeping in time with the Winter Classic theme (though wearing inaccurate throwbacks (though that’s not really their fault)).
Meanwhile the Penguins threw all the way back to 2018 by wearing the Pirates current Army dress-up alternates for some reason…
The swoosh on the Pittsburgh jerseys really fuck up the whole vibe.
Those Pirates jerseys are way too modern

The modern Pirates jerseys are a little disheartening compared to the Red Sox throwbacks. I know they’re not 100% accurate but it’s a better effort than just the Nike jerseys.
The Pens couldn’t have done the classic Pirates jerseys? I guarantee the Pirates were too cheap to source them and just threw some leftover alts at them.
Penguins kinda misfired here…could’ve at least went with the black and yellow striped Pittsburgh Pirate cap circa like 1975
