    with no explination as to why he was in the PAprogram, theres chance it could be something looming like him being charged or implicated, or a relapse… he's definitly not on waivers over his gameplay… also even the mention of possibly waving Elmer is blasphemy.

    Pretty sure I know what Yzerman’s motive is now. It’s a shame knowing another playoff birth is much further away than we thought. Thankfully with the power of patience I can wait until the season is over to see what ‘magic’ Stevie is going to pull next. It’ll be nice to have more time to prepare for my next college semester.

    -> because he’s been bad and is clearly out of shape for the NHL and may not even pick up the same talent if just thrown onto the main roster.

    The only 2 teams that can afford Vrana right now are Arizona and Anaheim. Both of those teams are rebuilding and have big contracts theyll have to dish out in the near future with all of the top draft picks they've been getting, Vrana also doesnt fit either of those teams timelines. So, I highly doubt Vrana gets claimed by 2pm tomorrow.

    I think there’s a gentleman’s agreement so he clears for him to get going in the AHL. In addition to the current cap situation it would be foolish for a team to take on that contract relative to his performances(*see injuries and recently coming back from the assistance program) and not get a pick or two as in a regular cap dump.

    I would love it if Pat Verbeek picked him up and had him play for the ducks. Then, he traded him back to Steve (for Erne) since they're boys, and this is a loophole in the system.

    Hawks should consider grabbing him not like it's gonna make us that much worse plus might be able to flip at the deadline

    It’s not the end of the world. Only 4 teams (Ari, Buf, Ana & Chi) have enough cap space to claim him outright with the Wild and Sens having LTIR space to claim him.
    I don’t see any of those teams putting in a bid for him at this time except maybe Minnesota being the only ahem wild card here. But it wouldn’t surprise me if Yzerman did his diligence and phoned those GMs first to see if any were interested in acquiring him, or if he’ll clear.

    Erne is a bigger risk to place on Waivers because of his lesser cap hit and UFA status at the end of the year. Teams like the Islanders would pick him up to help push forward in a wild card spot replacing the likes of Palmieri or Clutterbuck who are currently LTIR

    It’s a nothing burger unless he actually gets claimed and he’ll be back in the Red Wings dressing room before the trade deadline.

    He has been nothing but injured, he was never going to score 40 goals (enough with that complete fantasy), he signed that contract and has not showed up, I’m tired of the internal obsession with vrana and his potential, how is he supposed to realize his potential when he doesn’t play? It’s enough, I’m glad this is happening and hopefully someone picks him up.

    ANY rebuilding team should take this risk, he could bounce back and then they could flip him
