I mean new referees need to get games under their belt sometime. I don’t care how many or few games you’ve officiated; bad calls can happen from the newest to the most veteran refs. A bad call is a bad call and that last one on Marty was shite.
I know RBA has talked about having like a « sky ref » that watches from the press box or whatever – this game was one of those that supports that need, especially if there’s a ref that still has training wheels on in the game.
I used to go watch Junior games 15 years ago in Canada and Francis Charron was often the ref and making shitty calls and people wanted to beat him so bad that he needed security lol
Better to get his badly reffed games out of the way now than in the playoffs
