I have to agree with Don Cherry here. This is a childish gimmick to sell hockey in a poor market when, compared to other NHL teams. The Carolina Hurricanes are desperate to get fans, so now they're embarrassing the sport of hockey in the NHL. No other NHL teams do this cringe for a reason, unlike the Carolina Hurricanes all other NHL teams can sell hockey by playing hockey and interacting with fans in an entertaining and professional manner without embarrassment and cringe.
Edit: Like signing autographs, taking pictures with fans, doing charity events, sending gifts to fans, visiting their local hospitals, giving out free tickets, doing comical sketches, doing mic'd up videos, pulling off pranks with teammates, etc.
