À tous ceux qui se garent devant Olympic et Blaine. FAIS ATTENTION! La Toyota Prius de mon fiancé s’est fait voler son convertisseur catalytique ce soir pendant le match.

If anyone knows of a good price on a replacement in Boyle heights/East LA area, let me know. We always thought if it happened it would be in our neighborhood. The parking lot releases all liability for self parking. Thought a lot would be safe-ish.
Another Prius owner came up and got their catalytic converter stolen too. Bunch of low lives.
Go kings go!

Aren’t Prius once extra expensive so your prob better off going through your insurance and paying your deductible. Sucks though people are shitty. I was at the game also it was our first and it was awesome

Not surprised the nastiness of parking on the streets there, since the taxi drivers on the northwest end of L.A. Live are real dickheads for ratting other cars out to tow trucks.

Wait so it got stolen from inside the parking lot that has a security ? That’s the $10 lot right ?

this is such a sad and frustrating thing to hear about. Wish you the best in your repair and moving forward.

Depending on your auto insurance, you may be able to file a claim. When I worked for a Toyota dealership, we dealt with a lot of stolen cats. 9/10 filed a claim and their insurance company paid for the replacement.
Edit. The insurance company also paid for the installation of a cat shield to help protect against future theft.

Had mine taken in september (prius). Insurance guy said there is a new law that was going into effect jan 1st 2023 that would make it harder to sell the metals in it. I got a cage put in mine just in case and lowered my deductible on insurance for a while.
If you have a 2010-2015 prius, you should either get a cage put on or lower your deductible. I think Honda Elements are another high risk target. Guess the law didn’t work as intended (or is taking more time).
Fwiw I recommend 930 W 8th Place (behind the TCW tower and The Pantry). It’s $10, well lit with security and about a 7 minute walk to the star plaza entry.

Guys pleases go to a welder and weld a cage on your car, paying 500-700$ is better than 2-4K

File a claim and DO NOT go to the Toyota dealership. They are way too expensive and also have like a 3 month waiting list. I went here when mine got stolen and it was all done in a couple days: https://www.yelp.com/biz/3c-performance-exhaust-los-angeles-2?osq=catalytic+converter+repair
