There’s something in the water and I think it goes back to the days of Ethan Moreau and Sheldon souray back in The days where someone like Sam Gagne was one of the young guys in the room. The team coming away from pronger leaving. The product on the ice was as inconsistent as now and you were hear about divides in the locker room. Then we moved into the Nuge era and hall and eberle and the like. Young players with skill but a team that was also not getting it done consistently on the ice despite the talent. Pieces consistently missing, usually always on defence or goaltending. A team divided. And now here we are and it seems to be the same old story. Skilled players but on a team with missing pieces and a team that seems to not play for each other on the ice and maybe not on the same page off the ice (nurse and drai drama in the past). Lots of pressure from the fans and media too but the story seems to be the same despite the rotating cast of characters. But RNH has been here a while through a lot of changes in roster. Maybe he knows what’s going on and can lead and reflect. Can’t be the coach who always has to fall on the sword

Your points are spot on. We should have picked up Ryan Reeves when he became available. He would have created some electricity for the team & fans. Nurse is not himself. That contract he signed is like a death sentence of expectations. Can't blame him for taking guaranteed monies. Bottom line, team needs to improve on backend first.

One of the biggest things I've noticed this season is the Oilers passing game is awful, so may passes into bad spots forcing the receiving player to take an extra second or two to adjust, in this fast league it's all it takes to lose opportunity and space, cascading into bad dissensions and turn overs. You really see it in there neutral zone play, they have a very hard time getting the puck thou the zone as guys like to cheat for offence leaving very few options so if they flub it or miss on a high risk pass and turn it over there left dealing with a counter attack. I'm not a high mind analysist but this team reminds me of the Jets last year or the flames two seasons ago, like good on paper why are they so bad, it wasn't until they stared playing the right way that they stated to see success, have all the fun you want in to O zone but until you get there it's team first baby.. lol Last thing for me is I think we're going to need someone that complements Nurse, I like Cici I'm just not sure he fits the shoe. Big ask considering the Area code, better break out the 3rd blackberry Holland!!! much love Dolynny/chat

The problem isn't McDavid. He is scoring almost 2 points a night. The problem is the 9.25 to Nurse which they are stuck with that contract. Other than Barrie the other 5 d men are horrible. Our bottom 6 forwards are the same type of player. We have to move Barrie and Draisaitl to get cap relief to get help on Defense and move out Campbell. The other problem is the Oilers passed on Jesper Walsted who would have been our 1 goalie in 2 years but let Minnesota get him. Holland has built this team he is responsible. I don't want to see 97 walk away from Edmonton but he is a winner and 31 other teams will take him.
