Gotta be our worst loss of the season thus far. EVERYTHING was atrocious

  2. AduroPinquis

Well, at least the other Maple Leaf team pulled through tonight.

Let’s pray this is just a bad stretch of goaltending that will turn around soon.

  3. Gear4Vegito

Can I hit the panic button on our goaltending yet?

    **Samsanov Last 4 Games:**

    – .844 (.250 in Shootout)
    – .882
    – .842
    – .821

    *(0 of 4 have been a QS.)*

    **Murray Last 10 Games:**

    – .808 (Today)
    – **.929**
    – .810
    – **.947**
    – .895
    – .846
    – **1.000**
    – .879
    – **.955**
    – .893

    *(5 of 10 have been a QS.)*

Samsanov started hot and fell apart and Murray got injuried and is inconsistent. That is what we were told about these goaltenders in the off-season and that is exactly what happened to them.

I was worried about how I was going to watch both the Leafs and the Canada game tonight… Well I didn’t have to worry LOL

At least one team with a Leaf on their jersey remembered there was a game tonight!

  5. lmaoleafs2022

2 goalies who were known to be inconsistent prior to this year become inconsistent. Who could’ve predicted this? Surely not those absolute drooling idiots who were critical of signing them, how could they not know about the secret stats our management can access????????

  6. JinKazamasWaterboy

Repost from GDT: I’ve learned to see the regular season now as nothing more than a way to pass the evening.

I honestly wouldn’t even care if they dropped to the 2nd wild card, the playoffs will be the time when there are any emotional stakes for me.

  7. CamThompson

Tough game, we didn’t look sharp outside of the first little bit and didn’t get a lot of saves.

Not much to take away positive from this one, other than it’s game 39 and not a game 7. Onto the next one, learn from the mistakes, etc.

We know they’re capable of better, and sloppy stretches are going to happen.

  8. One of the only Leafs game I missed most of this year. What the heck happened?

  9. Hallolusion

Boys are fuckin’ lucky Canada’s other team won tonight. I better see 4 straight wins after tonight’s embarrassing performance.

  10. labadee

both the czech and canadian goalies at the WJC are undrafted

  11. ElephantShell34

The Leafs weren’t great or anything but Murray really robbed them of any attempt at a comeback in the 2nd half of the game.

Get into the 3rd down 1 or 2 and it’s game on but when it’s 5-1 with 18 mins to play you’re toast. Not surprising that the team looked kinda hopeless.

5 goals on 26 shots and 2.05 xG isn’t a recipe for success however you slice it.

  12. cappo40

Fast forward to May 25th so we can forget about these guys and their eventual first round loss again.

  13. Shadowbladez337

Goaltending was bad once again but our #1 and #2 centres also had unusually poor nights. 34 could’ve easily had 2-3 goals tonight if he could just handle the puck with more control and 91 just looked off in general

  14. big_nose_juicer

another wasted year if you stick with these goalies

  15. Hustler17

    Same shit different year.

Matthews’ shot is completely gone. He has scored maybe 1 classic AM34 goal this entire season.

Goaltending is the same as always.

    Lack of desire.

  16. burton4416

Can we stop with the five forward powerplay please? We gave Reilly and Sandin back use them

  17. Theteacupman

Watching Murray and Samsonov feels like I’m watching Jack Campbell and Petr Mrazek all over again

  18. Cartz1337

This might be a hot take.

When our ‘top’ D were injured we were playing our best. When Brodie came back is exactly when we started to look shaky, now with Mo back we look downright sloppy.

Is there something those guys have been coached to do that wasn’t being done when we were on fire? If so, stop having them do that. We’ve looked noticeably worse when these guys came back.

  19. ripDarkk

Our goalie situation worries me. Don’t trust either of them right now.

  20. shrederick

I wouldn’t hate mixing in a Joe Woll start or two if Murray or Samsonov is nursing something.

  21. GlumSea7

A loss is never good but the way people come gleefully crawling out the woodwork everytime to complain and doompost is so annoying. Yes it was a bad performance, no it doesn’t mean we should burn the team to the ground as if no team has ever had a bad loss before.

It just feels like some people put so much more energy towards hating the team than loving them, and they’d rather be proven right and sit in their misery than be proven wrong by having the Leafs succeed. They just want to sit there and say I told you so!! And sneer about Dubas to their buddies

  22. Tsukasa009

Was at the game tonight and the 1st just felt like a lost opportunity. Should have been 2-0 Leafs after the 1st and go from there. At least Scotiabank got to cheer about the WJ win while filing out!

  23. Soooo…..how bout dem Juniors? I’m gonna celebrate with some juniors (chicken).

  24. richardatn4t

They aren’t as good as they looked in November, they aren’t as bad as they look now.

The defence looks confused since Rielly returned it seems.
