This was a good measuring stick for where this team is and where they need to be. Skinner kept it as close as he could. The team did not play to win when up 2-0 . As you stated. The better team won. Kane’s return alone will not save this season. Need experienced defensive defenceman. Keep the faith and the vids rolling.
This team has no consistency – none – and very little desperation. Crossbars, goalposts and Skinner were all that stood between the Avs (who had 5 regulars out of their lineup) and a well-deserved lead. HALFWAY THROUGH THE 3RD PERIOD, 5 ON 5 SHOTS WERE 29 TO 8 FOR COLORADO. So much for playing 2 consistent games in a row. I don’t think Woodcroft knows how to fix this – and a few trades isn’t going to fix it either. This team is not good enough to be called a Contender. They are barely a contender for a playoff position. Based on last season, they would have to go (at least) 23-12-6 to make the playoffs.
It would seem Holland himself won't rush to bring in any LHD to the Blueline & if that's the case that they're gonna look deeply into Broberg more then why not pay the price for him already. Fans are not being patience with these games with a 4 road ones upcoming the test for making the playoffs will answer the results if they're really out of a playoff picture & believe me nothing's gonna be better like this if Holland's Job keeps being irresponsible.
Edm d out of sort… need to fill the klefbom/keith at 2 Left d. Broberg has the most potential to be top 4, the want to see a bit more if emerges this season. Just not sure if he can stay healthy to get there so in a way he is a bit of klefbom 2.0 with health.lol
Broberg could be elite on puck retrievals to relief pressure if he gets more reps.
. Edm could be better as a wild card team as they are not very good at home.lol

Skinner trending to a #1 . If he stays healthy and gets more experience playing , 26/27 yrs old he could be a top 5 nhl goalie and could be a top tier goal say from 26 to 32-35 yrs old. .
Avs was playing more structure hockey, more connected 5 v 5 , Edmonton as a 5 man unit for 3/4 of the game, 5 v 5 seem disconnected compared to the islanders game or even the winnipeg's game .
But Edm worked winnipeg and islanders 5 v 5 .Winnipeg is a pretty decent 5 v 5 team. Hello buck just stole 2 pts. If they play that way more so like the jets home game, they will win 65-70 % of their games.
Can you provide a review Justin bailey if the 6"4 214 lbs fast winger could help edm bottom 6 after the bake game? He just needs to not separate his shoulders : )
Good test on Monday against the Trapping discipline kings. To test edmonton patiences as a group to stay in these types of game . LA likes to play a more trap clog up the middle . Also as a group to learn risk manage.
Up 2 after 2 periods, I expected a tied game before it was over. Again, an easy call. Skinner was best Oiler by a good measure. DOMINATED! by the Avs. Most of the 3rd at 5v5, looked like an Avs PP. Lol… At least most people seem to have awakened to the reality that it was never the goalies (not counting Campbells troubles so far this year, last game not withstanding) for the last 4 years. The D is now worse then last year, when they still needed 2-3 solid Defensive D men. It has been really sub par for years and is really weak now. McDavid and Dria almost saved the day, but how much can 2 players do on a team with this D. Common Holland…
