This game pisses me off as an oilers fan as talbot probably coldve saved three of those goals it should have been a statement game for the oilers instead talbot didn’t come out to play

Talbot has to play better. Some of those goals were weak, even the OT goal. Crosby is still the best player in the world, McDavid is the next best.
The only reason Edm lost is their only usual offense is Mcjesus and Draisityl, though chaisson got some nice goals this game. Pit should have won this based on paper
watch kassian at 7:13 on the game tying goal to force overtime….he has completely no idea where his assignment is, the defenceman, who walks by him and slaps it home. what a bad defensive play after hustling back into his zone

Oilers have so much talent and I just don’t understand why they haven’t pieced it all together yet. Thought 2 years ago they finally made it, but that just wasn’t the case.
Crosby showin McDavid something special. These 2 playing each other is a dream game.
The reason the NHL as an organization is pushing the McDavid question so hard is a face and money. Hear me out.. Crosby has been the face and talent that the NHL has used for over a decade to market its game or product. Mcdavid is just starting his career with tremendous potential not only as a player, but more importantly to the league as a face and marketing angle. As Crosby gets older, they need that fresh face and talent they can use to market the league to keep interest peaked and dollars flowing in. Think about it, does Bettman or the league heads really care about honest talnet pool? No, they do care about having a marketable face to attach to their brand to keep the dollars and viewers rolling in. Its just a mass organized matchup to create more revenue and new viewers thus dollars for the coming generation. Just my two cents

As an oilers fan, I would like to say that Talbot cost us a bunch of games just by letting easy shots in. He’s probably the reason we didn’t make the playoffs. You saw it this game, 3 of those 6 goals should have been saves.
