  1. We should sell ppl with 1 yr left and try to be competitive but also try to be a bottom 7 team bc the odds at bedard or fantili are totally worth it

  2. I just hope the team can pull out some magic for the next 2 games, after that do as you please to improve the future. I'm flying from Alaska with my family to attend them and would love to be there for at least one win. LGRW.

  3. At 15:30 Ernie is mentioned. I have to admit I'm impressed with his speed and forecheck, way better than others on the team and it stands out.

  4. Ben Chiarot has not been bad. He's playing top minutes on a bad team, and I think that's well reflected in the stats you can dredge up when this argument arises. But I'm even more defensive of his role on the team because my eyes tell me this guy is a good player. He routinely plays pretty strong defense, he can keep offense alive and even contribute with good passes and some well placed shots, and he's been there to protect his teammates and knock guys down with ease.

I mean, the flip side is claiming that Seider has been "infinitely" better now that he's with Walman. What in the hell are people seeing that I'm not? 4 games so far, Seider has 1 point on a meaningless goal and is -3. The last two games he looked like his usual lost self this season. I truly believe he's getting the benefit of the doubt because he's part of the future and he was great last season. My eyes are telling me that he's struggling.

I think the hard discussion here is the nitty gritty, fundamental hockey stuff that the Wings are failing at. I think on paper, this team's roster is really strong. If this team gets fully healthy, the only obstacle is how well they play. It's not talent. We can have several 30 goal scorers if they're firing on all cylinders, and I think all of our D-men have been reliable, considering what they have to work with. What we have to talk about is why the Wings spent half of the game against the Leafs struggling to create anything resembling offense. Puck goes in the zone in some ugly way, immediately goes back out. 23 shots on goal. Just completely ineffective. They're doing something wrong, and I think it's worth considering that the system Lalonde wants them to play might not work.

  5. This franchise is a joke…see you guys in 2030 with year 11 of the yzerplan as they hope to make the playoffs by then 🙄🙄

  6. Man when are we gonna admit it. Larkin isn't going to be our C when we are legit. If I'm Yzerman, I'm trading Larkin, Bertuzzi, Perron, and if I can Chiarot and Copp. Seider & Raymond will be our "core leaders" when we are a legit team. Why not get assets while we can and load up to make moves for actual decent players. This team is 3-4 years out from being a bonified playoff team. Larkin will be pushing 30-32. His current ceiling is 70 points, he isn't our guy. Trade him for assets and build for the future. This current core sucks. We need to get rid of all Holland era, Yzerman only.

  7. Patience. Lalonde been saying it all along. We got teased. He not. He knows exactly where we are. Losing Copp ( pre-season) Fabbri / Bert/ Zadina & Vrana for most of 1st half is a tonne of goals and skill. New system. I predicted at best we move up 5 places on last year. ( overall NHL ) And I thought I was being pessimistic. So I drank the hope juice as well.
It’s coming. We have pace and mobile D – in coming Kasper / Ed / AJ – will be good. Amen x stop watching Lions – its an affliction ❤️‍🩹

  8. I believe this season was/is a litmus test for Larkin and Bert. Yzerman added good players in offseason to compliment this core, injuries happen, Vrana happens, now we have similar record to last year. I think it’s possible both Larkin and Bertuzzi are moved at the deadline.

  9. They brought up the Lions – NFL, sorry but it is a joke the officiating – please ! I told my sisters the lions would have no problem with the packers , outdoors or the cold – but the refs were their biggest challenge – the NFL has such a pathetic crush on the packers and so you had to know the lions were going to get jobbed bigtime – but they fought thru it and put that creep and his team out once and for all !! GRIT

  10. It is just me or Wings fans more mellow when we lose games this season compared to last year?

  11. I am disappointed as well guys. That being said let's count how many games they have lost by a goal in O.T. ….they're significantly improved. They need to close some of those tight games. And continue to improve.

  12. I freaking love Chiarot. I'm not a guy who knows anything about hockey, but I do watch most Wings games and I just love that he is willing to be scrappy if the team starts to get bullied. The heart means the world to me

  13. Lmao took 2 months to realize this team wasnt making the playoffs? One common player all these years . Dylan larkin . He’s good and i keep him but hes not A leader nore a 1c cause hes finally putting up decent numbers . Rather move him than give him a contract we’ll regret

  14. In my opinion the pk lacks aggresion, they allow the other team to skate in completely unabated and setup, which is not ideal but fine if you actually take away the passing lanes and block shots. The pp has nobody who can skate the puck into the zone, once they're in the zone they can setup and actually create chances but they typically miss the net. They really need to step up the physicality.

  15. I started a franchise mode for the Red Wings last night, and we won the draft lotto and got Bedard. Y'know, I think I'd be okay with that. #LGRW

  16. The Wings aren't what they need to be, period. So one more stop at the wishing well called the draft is needed. The further down the ranking they go the better the wish should be.

  17. Thanks for waking up to reality of this team. As soon as this part of the sked was to come up, this was going to happen, and we were going to be stuck in mediocre land waaaaaayyyy to fast. We don't have the pieces. We don't. We should not have signed anyone that wasn't needed to get to the cap floor. Now, maybe 19 knew this and they were mostly all going to be trade bait. I still hold firm that they will (and 100% should) trade Dylan Larkin and bert if they can. You have to ask yourself, do you want perpetual mediocrity? Or do you want to have a shot at the cup in 3-7 years?

  18. Leafs toyed with them on sat. Night . They have 5 top scorers Detroit have none unacceptable the rebuild started 10 years ago ????? They are getting worse if Larkin leaves they will bottom of the league for years. Let’s start rebuilding top brass?and then the players Stevie not doing it this time!

  19. Team is leveling out. Rather draft higher than 14th overall as this upcoming draft has some talent factor at LW and RW.
Bigger physical wingers such as Colby Barlow, Matthew Wood, or Quentin Musty could be a key addition for the future.

  20. I'd love to see them try Bergy at center. He played there his entire juniors. He might be the smartest forward on the team.

  21. Another issue is they figured the only 1 time PP guy was Kub, they started shading him, we telegraphed with every pass that eventually all we were going to do is work to make it end up there with the occasional audidle to Perron. They figured it out, he disappeared, so did our PP and he is a 3rd liner now.
