Based on Jim 2.0’s interview, we’re more likely to keep Horvat as an own rental and try to compete.

This management is trading nobody, sorry folks. I have seen this before, with all the Miller trade theories last season, just for Miller to stay with us for another 7 years. Horvat is 100% either getting extended somehow, or will leave as a free agent, just like Marky and Tanev. The last time we traded a major player like Horvat was back in 2014, obviously when Kesler was traded to the Ducks. Keep in mind, Kesler requested a trade, so who knows if that trade would have happened if Kesler was content to stay with the Canucks.
Bottom line, seems Aquilini and whatever management he works with are hesistant to trade important, big name players, judging by the trade history. They have no problem acquiring players though, but they give up a ton of round picks lol. Typical Aquilini.

I kind of enjoy the Canucks drama as much as the games, sports these days are a soap opera as much as anything, but one plot twist I won’t entertain is if the Kraken win a cup before the Canucks do. Horvat playing for them would be delicious however.

Writers like this one keep referring to the team waiting for « Trader Jim » to make a move. The hall of famer clearly stated he’s not the one on the phone with the other GMs. The guy on the phone is rookie GM Allvin which is why a 99pt Miller could not be traded.

Who would we even want from Seattle?
