You mean the crosscheck to the face? Yeah probably. But, it’s Bunting, so…flip a coin?

  2. Athletic_Diabetic

That’s not a cross-check to the face, that’s a tomahawk to the face.

How that is not called really makes me question the integrity of the game

Hockey players have their identity on the ice, and that’s okay, but when an obvious penalty is clearly overlooked, it only looks bad on the refs and league.

This is a weird one to the normal eye. His cross check is a very NHL kind of crosscheck but it’s his blade that comes up and hits his face. So yes. Yes that’s a call. But I guess I get why that wasn’t called.

It doesn’t look like a cross check to me, careless use of the stick for sure. I would have expected some call though.

This is literally ridiculous wtf is going on the last 2 games?? Kampf , Rielly that they weren’t gonna call until they saw replay + blood and this shit? Keefe sleeping with refs wives or something holy hell

*snooty voice* « even though unintentional, a player should have control of his stick at all times »

  8. Demo541

Absolutely a penalty but Bunting was whining for calls a lot so the refs probably just said “nah”

  9. Rchap88

First look it just looked like a hit. Replay it’s obvious he lumberjacked him in the face.

    Wow.

Clearly a high-stick of the fiercest variety short of a *total* chop. I think that guy needs to be responsible with his stick. Minor for sure; double-minor for blood. I’d be taking a number if someone put me on my back like that. Hockey is awesome.

Yes clear. Chariots stick clearly hits Bunting in the face. Easy 2 minute high sticking

  12. Flustered-Flump

High stick penalty as he should always have control but it seems he loses an edge from his right leg and loses balance as a result – I dare say it would have been your garden variety cross check to the arm if he had maintained that balance though.

I don’t think Bunting kicked the goalies skate on purpose. Probably wouldn’t call a penalty on him.

  14. Falcon3492

Well yes, it should have been two minutes for high sticking or crosschecking at the very least, maybe a major for intent to injure as well. But with the quality of officials the NHL currently has, it’s just another day at the office.

Had Chiarot been pushed or something I could maybe see a no call, but he straight dove in there. Bunting does himself no favours, and this one definitely cost him.
