  1. I'd rather have Rodrigues but Virtanen is the more likely of the two.

BTW – Today's women's gold medal team wasn't the U18s, it was the senior women.

  2. I would also be shocked if Evan would have to take a PTO.

I am doubtful of Virtanen. Feels like his play has only been winding down, and he seems to have attitude issues. I see no controversy in signing him though. The guy has been cleared of the charges.

  3. Exactly Patrick. The Oilers give players a chance to prove on ice and personal devopment to correct past mistakes. It doesn’t matter what you did in the past. What are you doing in the present is all that matters. Mistakes are how we learn and grow from

  4. I can see a Patrick Kane deal coming. And Barrie, Bison king, and Fougle be moved out. But Mcloud and vitrinan will be signed and we are cap compliment

  5. I'm hoping to see McLeod soon, I hope it's just how the process his deal is taking that's causing the delay.

It'd be great for the Oilers to build up the talent they have in their younger rosters. It'd be a strong core.

  6. I have no idea who Jake is. I just heard he was over rated but I really don't know more than that.

  7. Jake isn’t a good choice, let him go back to Moscow for another season. Evan also isn’t a good choice for the oilers. If there’s any moves coming it’ll be giving up a player or 2 for draft picks or prospects to clear up cap space for Ryan

  8. Virtanin would be an interesting addition and Rodriquez would be a nice pick up.
McLeod getting signed is the news I’m waiting for as well as a trade to make cap compliance. Canada Gold. US must be tired of get the medal you can only get by losing.🥴Looking forward to your next vid.

  9. Uncle Kenny promised he'd have McLeod signed BEFORE training camp. In so far as Evan Rodrigues goes I hope he gets signed to the Oilers not PTO'd. He's better than that BUT for anything to happen someone has to go for us to have the money to do things. Great vid as always. Take care all.

  10. Great content, thanks Patrick. Looking forward to the new season. Next time I visit Edmonton from Victoria, I hope we can grab a beer and chat some Oilers. Cheers!

  11. A no for Virtanen. Too much baggage and not that much upside. I still remember how he tried to make a name for himself at the rookies tournament by taking a run at Connor. It might bring bad Karma like signing Brandon Manning. 😉😂

  12. My goodness the anticipation here in Edmonton is building. Where will we end up and how we will do? It is going to be crazy I think.

  13. Leavins is out to lunch if he thinks a 19goal 40point scorer Rodriques go for PTO he's worth $1.5-$2 mil

  14. Rodrigues would be an amazing get if the Oilers could land him.

  15. All these rumours about adding guys. Rodrigues looks like a super pick up, not sure on Virtanen purely based on numbers. Now on the other hand, we need to move salary, we are currently over and still need McLeod. Really like him and hope he is in the long term plans. Would like to see Jesse P moved for sure and possibly Barrie. Barrie just for the cap space and never been a fan of Jesse P, just don’t like him. Bad passer, doesn’t hit and misses so many wide open chances. Time to move on. I’ll be keeping an eye out for Rodrigues and McLeod! Let’s Go Oilers!,

  16. Isn't that that guy that when he was a teenager took a picture of a woman he banged while she was sleeping and sent it to a few of his buddies. That's a way more common thing than people want to admit. Doesn't make it right but it's not worth canceling somebody

  17. I am so tired of these types of issues (Vertanin) they are guilty till proven innocent. And that is the opposite of how our legal system should works.

  18. My post today is not related to today's topic. Life for the Oiler fan base would be so much more joyful if there was just one team, that's all we're asking, just one team, that will take Puljujarvi. Although I give Holland an "A" for effort, trying to create an illusion of value in a dude operating a non stop machine of post contract demands, "the JP deal", is destined to back fire, no matter how many times Holland thinks he can shuffle the deck to get a trade done with JP. No GM is falling for that smoke and mirrors evaluation. JP is that entrepreneur who goes into the Shark Tank asking for $3M and a spot in the top six when he has no sales. In fact as his brand loses more popularity, JP wants more of everything. Maybe Marc Cuban or Mr. Wonderful should have handled the negotiations. Conclusion? Holland invested money in an uninvestable business model called Jesse Puljujarvi. Holland may eventually discover that any trade package involving Puljujarvi will include a draft pick. In fact, it's logical to assume, the reason a trade has not happened with JP as of yet is because Holland refuses to give a draft pick away to make the deal. So where does this road take us? Into one giant pot hole. Holland tries to spin it to buy time and leak nuggets to the media that JP is slated to play in the top six. When we and he (Holland) knows he's trying to avoid placing JP in the top 6 like the plague by making a trade before the season starts With Holland signing Puljujarvi to a $3M contract, Holland dug himself into a deeper hole than he was in. Mr. Holland, please stop digging and start swinging… for the fences. Which is what Calgary''s GM has done. Look how that turned out. Now they have Kadri who will be hacking and slashing at Draisaitl's healed injury every chance he gets, and rattle Kane into the penalty box any chance he gets. Let's not think about what Kadri's going to do to McDavid. Make no mistake Kadri is a vindictive angry player with no ethical or moral compass. When you think about what our stars are up against with Kadri next season in the Battle of Alberta, Puljujarvi becomes even more useless and irrelevant. With Kadri added to Calgary''s roster, one more word will be added to the branding of the Battle of Alberta. The 22/23 season will officially be known as the Bloody Battle of Alberta in which only the toughest Gladiators will survive the brutal, bruising and blood thirsty contests. A UFC fight on skates. A level of brutality that will shred Puljujarvi to pieces. There is no question Puljujarvi will make decisions with the puck to save his own skin while putting his linemate in harm's way. To that end my friends, Holland must pull the plug on Puljujarvi as soon as he possibly can, before the epic Bloody Battle of Alberta 22/23 season begins.
    Peace out. ✌️

  19. Thanks for the shoutout! (@rhetosaurus, not @rhetosauras, btw). Thanks for your work, Patrick!

  20. Hey Patrick, not to overburden you so l at all by this ask, so just take it as a thought. I wish key links were in your videos either as descriptions or in the comments pinned.

Links to like the career earnings of the player or player being discussed and their career production page.

I'm watching this video and immediately from my phone wishing that I could just click a link to those items. It's not the first time either. Obviously this is not a must nor by any means necessary and it might be too much to ask based on the time you have to invest already, but I'm just putting it out there anyway.

As always your work is appreciated.

  21. I don't know what the deal is with Rodriguez. Something is there that we don't know about. When fringe players like Foegle get multi years deals and a 20 goal scorer can't get an offer before September then it makes me wonder. Either character issues, obscene salary expectations or something…, But I'm guessing there is something we don't know about that's pouring cold water on this kids future.

  22. Mcleod is very patient. He has a lot of potential..im glad hes being loyal. Mcleods got the ability to be on the 2nd line imo. Hes got a high ceiling. I like him
