I mean, Columbus isn't mathematically eliminated from playoff contention yet, so I could see a Blue Jackets v Kraken final on the horizon.

Is it a crazy idea to believe that Seattle being that poor was due to terrible goaltending and possibly a fluke? I'm surprised that they are this good, but I expected a major jump in progression and possibly a fight for a playoff spot.

id say they are 100% a playoff team, i just dont know if they would go deep into the playoffs is what i would of said if they didnt shutout the bosten bruins (a team who never lost a game in regulation on their home ice)

Great video! It's been fun watching the Kraken this year. They really are a gritty team, that plays simple fun hockey! It is also awesome having an NHL relatively close to AK! New fav team for sure.
The Jets are surprising everyone but nobody cares..
I think I've seen it explained best in that the kraken have three second lines and a third line. The lines slot in and out like cogs in a machine and keep things going at almost a relentless pace, suffocating teams in their own zone for the majority of games.
Nhl is just squeezing money where ever they can find it. Every company out there is taking a hit. Nhl is just tapping into the Seattle market to boost revenues. Only 16 teams have the chance to break even in the playoffs. Season tickets are cheap, playoffs tickets can only go up in value.
Their advanced stats tell another story. I have no doubt they will hit a wall soon. It's like when the Devils we're losing non stop to start the season and their stats showed that they SHOULD be winning, then right after becoming a contender for top in the metro.
As a Bs fan I'm conflicted. Happy for them and would rather take the first home L to the Kraken vs the Leafs (the home loss was going to go to one of them). However I do think the game is getting blown out of proportion a little bit… like all I've seen is Kraken news since that game. They definitely seem playoff ready but I am almost certain the Kraken will not be able to beat a team like the Bs, Lightning, Leafs, Canes, Stars in a full playoff series. We'll see though. Interested to see if I'll be wrong… They certainly deserve respect.
