Le podcast « Edmonton évince la victoire contre Vegas avec une défense solide » de The Cult of Hockey
Faisons cela! Le balado Cult of Hockey. Par les Fidèles et pour les Fidèles, ce soir avec Ira Cooper et David Staples. Ils creusent dans la victoire 4-3 d’Edmonton sur les Golden Knights de Vegas.
Pretty cool that we win three straight with Desharnais (sp?)! Absolutely guaranteed we wouldn't have been able to do that if he hadn't showed up with his big frame and strong defensive skills! What are we going to do when we need to sign him long term and the Nurse-albatross precedent is in place? Who wooda thunk that rotating 4 lines would make a difference?! It's what woodcraft did when he replaced Tippet last year then he forgot that all the players need to play if they're going to be able to contribute!
Kostin might be the younger version of Evander Kane and Pat Maroon. I hope he really can develop into one of those players with the Oilers. Desharnais was out on the ice during the last 5 minutes. This tells me the coaches are trusting his defensive play during the valuable time of the game. There are moments when McDavid and Draistile get held in the defensive zone when they play together. This is probably the misjudgment of who is the center and winger.
Ira does a great review. Thanks to both of you. EDM 5 pts behind Vegas. maybe can't close that gap in final 37 games but is looking better for sure !! We are not able to compete w LA or SEA so far this year – but we can try to avoid them.
Anyone who watches the Oilers play should be more than aware of their offensive threat. However, beginning with this second half of the season, their defensive abilities have had a major boost from their defensive corps including backchecking forwards, and along with the much improved play from their depth players (most notably Holloway, Janmark and Kostin), continued great consistent play from McDavid, Draisaitl, Hyman and Nugent-Hopkins, as well as solid efforts from both of their goaltenders, all of this bodes well for the Oilers as the season progresses. And, as long as they remain consistent, this team could pose a major threat in their quest for the Stanley Cup.
"This Kostin guy looks like a Keeper." Ace96, 1977. "This Kostin guy might well be in the top 6 in a few weeks" Ace96, 1947. Tempus Fugit. Those 2 wins vs bottom of the NHL should be 100% expected. This however was a legit well played all around game. The gaffs that were made they were able to damage control pretty well. JP still not producing a lot of points but he does a lot that helps and at some point he's gona find some consistency scoring wise. Nice work overall from Campbell. Dria is sometimes just awesome, and tonight was of of them times. Wow.. Fun Game!
Great game tonight and we held a lead! the 3rd/4th lines are scoring and playing great defense. #73 is solid addition to the Defense. Campbell held the fort on this trip! solid performance now bring it home.
jesus dead dads you guys — you are running out of sympathetic posts. no thanks ira. hair goes left side and brylcreem down — a judge would look at you and laugh
It’s not ok to always have the disclaimer that you’re fighting a cold and then cough the whole way through. It’s amateur.
Have a big glass of water with you during the podcast. And some cough drops. How bout taking a cough suppressant? Maybe some zinc and vitamin D3 to boost your immune system But please do something
Hopefully, when Kane returns, Woodcroft gives 29 and 97 back their own lines. The loaded top line does not play good defense. It may be huge offensively, but it often doesn't have a great +/– record. … On the other hand, the 21-93-26 line, IMO, is the best overall line right now – scoring, defending and difficult to play against. They will be a crucial line IF the Oilers make the playoffs.
Putting together a string of wins is exactly what we need, it was also the most entertaining game of the trip. Now we need to exorcise our home woes! Loved the contributions from the entire team including Jack who is looking much more settled. Poo is contributing defensively but completely lacks any confidence with the puck. I hope Yamo's stature hasn't put him back on the IR and he's just sick.

A win is a win… Even better against Vegas.
My god I love Kostin! Janmark on fire as well, also Desharnais looking good. Thanks for the great podcast again guys!

Thompson is a right handed glove so both of Drai’s and Klim’s shots were glove side.
My good thing … dagger stare to Knights bench after second goal by Leon!

I find the oilers tend to have a poor second period. I always get nervous during the second period.

Ken Holland needs to find a way to sign Kostin before his value rises anymore.
Take some vitamins David…. or get some sun, maybe.

Well done boys. Ira you need to be on here more often.
Kostin’s hug with Campbell at the end was gold.

Dave you seem like your always catching a cold this past 2022 into 2023
Hollywood, Ryan and Pul had fresh legs in the 3rd that's good coaching to recongize that and put them to use!
I moved from St. Albert to South Carolina… that might help with your annual illness 😏
Just when I think I'm out……. they pull me bak in👐
Kane takes Puljujarvi out of the lineup? Where’s Yamamoto?
Great game. I hope we are the team to slow down the Kraken. Keep it together guys.
Bruce, Vitamin D. I've never seen someone get so many colds.

But please do something
you dumb-ass. the oilers won!
I think when you guys said “they were shooting low blocker” you meant low glove because Vegas’s goalie is a right handed glove.
😉👌
David, "Klim The Dream", a good one… like it.😏👍
