Except that every team we are battling with has an easier schedule.
Our schedule is easy. The blues only play like 5 road games in the next 6 weeks. They are home for 9 more days and then go on the road for 3 games and then are home for 19 days. They have an easy two game road trip to ottowa and Carolina and then 8 more days at home. They play a bunch of games against teams that will be tanking for Bedard.
I think they easily make the playoffs. As long as they don’t completely shit the bed in March they will be a 6/7 seed.
Having said all this… I’d rather we miss the playoffs and amass some picks. We don’t suck enough for Bedard but we do suck enough to get 1-2 top D prospects which we need. Trade Tarasenko and O’Reilly now for picks. This team in no way gets out of the second round of the playoffs.
It’s so hard to know which direction is best. I feel like the West is so weak that there is a chance we can go for a couple rounds but I think I agree with most of you, time to deal for some prospects and retool a bit.
