“Tons of positives out there tonight, boys. Tons of fucking positives.

That’s a good team out there, boys, that is a great fucking team.

Core group’s been together a long time.

And we battled ’em, boys, we fucking battled them.

OK, we got ’em one more time this season. One more time and I can promise you all, we are gonna get them boys!”

    *loud farting*

    L’s

    That’s when I’m not impressed.

Frustrating game. Flames looked good in the 2nd and 3rd. Unfortunately Avs did what the Flames have struggled with all year. They took advantage of the Flames starting slow and then played defence and held their lead.

  4. Drcanadaeh

Win while out shooting the other team challenge (impossible)

  5. natenicholson

    What a shitshow

At least we beat them on the deserve to win o meter

If expected goals= a win we’d be better than the goddamn bruins

    Goodnight all

  6. CaptinDerpI

Wow, another loss where we outshot the opponents!

I would’ve rather stuck my dick into a hornets nest than watch that

  7. xThunderstruck33x

Treliving gambled big and instead of going for a proper rebuild, we went all in and signed Huberdeau and Kadri.

It was a colossal failure, we are nowhere near being a contender and now have to pay these guys for the next decade. I like Kadri as a player, but Huberdeau has always been nothing more than a PP specialist. There is a reason he was sheltered on the 2nd line in Florida. He is a good player at 5 or 6 million, not 11 million.

I don’t even know what you do at this point. I guess hope we can sneak in and go on a run. What an absolute mess. And Sutter needs to start giving the younger guys a chance.

  8. If hockey was two periods we’d have a 5 year dynasty by now

  9. FromSuckToBlow

Missed the game, who we slinging up for this one boys? Also 10 pim from kadri? What did he do

  10. marbsarebadredux

At least we only have Huberdeau for 8 more years at 10.5 mill. What a game changer!

  11. circusbeaver

I suppose it’s not really a good sign when you don’t care if anybody on the team stays or goes. Lifeless clock punchers.

Second game in a row where we started the game poorly, started playing better in the second, and finally looked like ourselves again in the third. Too little too late, we are running ourselves out of runway playing .500 hockey, we need to see the third period effort for a full 60 minutes again.

  13. TheFifthsWord

How many unlucky bounces can we get?

What a snooze fest at the dome too

  14. Suzaku94

I really don’t want to just get bounced in the first round. Would rather we embrace the ass of this season and get a decent pick

  15. DOITLIKEBRUTUS

I forgot to watch and the Flames forgot to play; what a pair we are.

Once again our top players just cannot take over a game. We literally need to rely on our « 3rd line » to get things going.

Going down 0-3 in the first period of the game is just unacceptable. It’s pathetic. I used to think Robert calling into Fan960’s overtime was overreacting every time he called this franchise rotten from the top down but now I’m starting to agree. It’s a mindset that our players just refuse to shake. They only compete when they have to.

If it were up to me I’d start the rebuild sooner than later.

  17. Vinny331

Last year was so fun. I miss those days.

Over halfway through the season, and we are just looking worse and worse. Guys are starting to look like they’re phoning it in. This reminds me of how Vancouver was playing early last year before Green got booted – everyone knows this isn’t working, and is waiting for the ball to drop. This isn’t even like past years where we’ve sucked where I can say « Oh well our goaltending is great » or « we’ve got great scorers, just need to round out the defence ». Literally everything is bad. I cannot point to one saving grace on this team. Everything sucks. This product does not work.

  19. Man all summer all i looked forward to were flames games and this season is progressively getting more disappointing as it goes. Never thought id ever dislike watching hockey but this season is really ruining hockey for me. Sucks

  20. bettycrockerinmybum

Well hopefully the line changes spark a good performance against the bolts.

Honestly there is no need to be negative because it is not useful. They are still in a playoff spot (atm), with an easy strech of games soon. The ending to this game left me more optimistic. Still 35ish games left this season and worse case scenerio we are 2 points out before the Columbus game.

  21. Top_Tumbleweed

It’s looking like blow it up o’clock. We’ve only been holding onto t the playoff race because Edmonton was stuttering too, looks like they’ve figured it out and we’re going to finish well into 5th

  22. Accomplished_Skin_22

I feel pretty apathetic about the Flames. What a mediocre franchise

  23. Sufficient-Cookie404

That was a really bad game, it’s harder and harder to watch this team lose.

I’m watching Sutter bullshit after the game, and he doesn’t give a fuck about anything. He’s lost his care just like the players have.

  24. The-Reddit-Giraffe

When fire team lose I sad

  25. tallmaletree

I mean Sutter literally just said it himself. We are not a playoff team, teams like Colorado are in a different class. « We are a middle of the pack team. »

  26. Well it was interesting talking to makar’s dad throughout the game. But that’s about it

  27. FatLouieXVI

What an absolute great game. PP looked phenomenal the way they were snapping that puck around. The whole game they played with speed too. Solid goal tending all night. Boys ce to play tonight!! Much expected from the defending Stanley Cup champs. Glad the flames just watched tonight to see how a team should play.

  28. Live-Yogurt-6380

What if no one good wants to play in Calgary? Maybe that’s it?

  29. Visotto1

A rebuild isn’t out of the question. We have Hanafin, Tanev, Lindholm, Toffoli and Backs all on very moveable contracts…

  30. Yetimanchild

What’s the point Sutter ? Post game you say we’re not in their class, they’re Stanley Cup champs for a reason. So what’s the fucking point playing the same line up ?
