Le podcast « Les Oilers se réunissent en équipe dans une grande victoire contre Tampa » du Cult of Hockey
Faisons cela! Le balado Cult of Hockey. Par les fidèles et pour les fidèles, ce soir avec Bruce McCurdy et David Staples. Ils profitent de la victoire 5-3 d’Edmonton contre le Lightning de Tampa Bay.
Desharnais is better than expected. This is the type of defenseman the Oilers is missing since Larrson left. Crosschecking and punishing the players for standing in front of the net. I don't mind Kostin fighting Maroon when the Oilers were up 2-0. It sends out a message to the opponent team not to touch their best players. Something we haven't seen this season.
The most entertaining game of the year so far. Pat takes a ridiculous penalty and Tampa pays for it, what a Maroon! Nurse and Kostin showing some grit really goes a long way to a win like this. Every Oiler played overall really well, other then a really bad line change and a few blown coverages. Gritty well played Win.
PSA… Twitter is NOT all Oiler fans… not even most Oilers fans… it's like 10 of the same dudes always posting, and those are the people calling for the trade of Broberg. STOP giving Oilers twitter so much influence… they don't deserve it. I ALWAYS thought it was stupid to trade a 21 year old Broberg for an injury prone Churchyn and those "Oilers fans" have no problem adding TWO 1st rounder too… comical.
Just look at Boston with their older players!…Bergeron is 36…Marchand is 34 and kreji is in his mid thirties also…they are amongst the best in he nhl and I believe our nuge and Hyman are going to be the same!
Desharnais a big help actually- deserves some credit. SEA got a surprise win vs NJ tonight to hold 1st, but EDM is staying within 3 points of #1 in the Pacific. Too big an ask to catch up all these points against the best – but we are showing that team can contend & compete with the top teams in the division. Nice going !!
Obviously Oilers are all feeling a couple of inches taller with adding Kostin, then Desharnais, then Kane in lineup. They are one hard nosed bottom six forward away from being a team that is hard to play against. Replace PJV or Ryan and the Oilers are there. If you could swap Ceci or Kulak for physical stay at home Dman, that wouldn’t hurt either
It was great to see nurse come to defend Kane but where were 97's team mates while he was rag dolled by anybody with a chance. the punishment that McDavid takes without any retaliation is a disaster in the making. If 97 gets hurt the oilers are finished.
Not sure what generated all the emotion and animosity in this game but it was highly entertaining. Jack is definitely looking better but is still letting in at least one softie per game (the second goal tonight). I wish Poo could find some mojo!
Our top line was on for three goals against I believe. I was surprised that Kane was not taken off that line sooner. That was a borderline coaching error in my view. I did not think Nurse’s play was that good although he was playing against some of the best competition in the world. I am a Nurse fan but finding it increasingly difficult to justify a $9 million dollar plus cap hit. Pretty apparent now that some of that money could’ve been used elsewhere. If Nurse had not played as well as he did at that time of that contract negotiation, he certainly would not have received the kind of money he did. I think in the last year and a half his play has dropped off. I certainly don’t see any improvement.
Holloway must be taking lessons from drai for line changes. However out of 40+ games and he has made it less than a handful of times. Give the kid a break.
Why tf would Woodcroft mess with the lines so much! It's so frustrating to see these lines that are gaining some confidence get so shuffled! At one point in the 3rd the PK was McD Kane Kulak and Broberg! Sorry woodcroft but that is NOT a PK line!! All 3 goals were scored against McD Drai and Kane I think, the line combos has been good but Woody was shuffling like a maniac! Why play Vinnie so little when he's clearly doing such a great job!!?
Realistically…the team needs to start crushing it Every Game, And now, no excuses. The fact that they lost 10 "easy" points already…makes me mad. Maroon is a POS. What he did to #91 was deliberate, it was very evident by the way Oilers reacted. KEEP WINNING!
Vinny is a smart player. He works within his ability and gets the puck on net with traffic in front, unlike Nurse who seems to always flutter it to the net with nobody around.

Kostin is the unexpected glue of the oilers
Massive confidence boost for the team. Beating the the team that has been to the last 3 cup finals will do that for a team.
Best game of the year from the oilers. What an exhilarating game to watch!!
I think Desharnais has made a difference on the oilers defence!
…imagine if McLeod had an ounce of physicality?
This was a big win, I feel we are all starting to believe in this team in a more meaningful way.

Skinner next Game, He can't go too long before he gets tired

Kane needs more time …he will get it back soon!

Good game by all lines. All defence. And Soup….really nice to see it all coming together
John Campbell? Cool, plays better than Jack. 🤔
What about Evander Kane for Team Canada???

Point of interest. Slew footing is a match penalty.
It's crazy the Leafs let Hyman go.

They beat this Tampa Bay team twice now in this season. They have yet to beat the Avs.
"Give that fat ass 4 minutes" were my choice words regarding Maroon.
✌😉
Hyman or Nuge on the all star would have been nice instead of Horvat
Awesome game…love it when the game gets chippy like that!
Zamuner and no Messier….😖 Good one Clarke …
Up by 2 goals is the exact time you go after Maroon…..not when its tied and the game is in the balance….such a nervous nelly Dave.

Preview of a Stanley cup final possibly? I love that you mentioned about Bouchard because I noticed that as well. Hilarious!
