Luka needs either a consistent scorer/allstar wing like beal or Lavine or derozan. Orr a consistent 3 and D player like mikal bridges, danny green type of player with a defensive juggernaut frontcourt like jaren jackson or jarret allen.

Start with trading THJ and picks for Derozan

Lebron and Luka are ball-dominators that impose spot-up roles which stall young players, and therefore need ready-made stars – they lack the teammate development, fits, chemistry or brand of ball to win organically.. Otoh, expert jumpshooters like Curry and MJ can develop teammates (win organically) so they have higher team ceilings/Finals records. They can also carry bed-wetting teammates over top 5 SRS teams (sufficient brand at carry-job volume to beat top teams), so they can win with less scoring help (Wiggins instead of Wade, AD, etc).

The MAVs should make an offer for LeBron James. They have the assets that can help the Lakers move in the AD leader direction and have better teams going forward. The Mavs with LeBron, and Luka with Hardaway, would be an awesome combination. Defense would be the weak link in that chain, but I bet it would be so weak as to deny them a real shot to win it all right now.

the Mavs aint getting no 2nd superstar via trade….they have nothing good to trade and their Picks are not even lottery picks…even if they keep the roster like this Luka will drag them to the playoffs …I cant remember them getting a really good player next to Dirk either ….they had lots and lots of roleplayer plus guys….and actually I think thats exactly what Luka needs next to him although a 2nd superstar would be nice …like a Klay or Kris type of guy would be the perfect fit ..but I am telling you it will be hard enough for them to land someone in FA also …it's weird cause Cuban is a good owner and Texas has no income tax and still the Mavs traditionally fail in FA
Luka style of play doesn't win championships. He needs to learn how to play without the ball. In the playoffs, Dallas is easy to guard.
