I wonder if players ever have nightmares about refs simply never breaking up one of their fights.

While he’ll never be in the same breathe as Twist or Chase, Reed Low was a damn monster in a scrap and for those who don’t remember, his [first NHL goal was scored on Patrick Roy.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FGxzy550dSI)

I love hockey fights, I appreciate fighting in hockey, and Tony Twist is one of my favorite Blues and I loved to get hat tricks as him in NHL 95 .
But watching these clips of truly epic heavyweight bouts where they’re just spamming punches and huge haymakers until someone drops or the refs stop it… Kind of makes my stomach turn a bit. Knowing what we know now about CTE and post concussion syndrome it’s hard to like it all as much as I used to, seeing them actively doing so much damage to their brains
