I feel Buffalo needs two way forward who can play gritty and a right shot D man like you said! Kane and Jacob Chychrun would be great if the price was right…Jacob C is hurt all the time so I don’t think they will trade for him
Going after Kane is a big no no. Maybe in the off-season when he is a free agent if he is willing to give the organization a nice home town discount. With how old Kane is now he won't be producing enough to justify a big contract and Sabres are already doing great offensively.
The first thing is to see if Buffalo is still in the race in 6 weeks.
Kane is not what Buffalo needs, scoring is not their problem. A defenceman who can play the right side is the key, so not Provorov. Chychrun's trade price is far too high. Klingburg, if it is a sign and trade, would be ideal. The other defenceman that could be available is Dumba in Minnesota, assuming Buffalo is not on his M-NTC. He would be cheaper in trade value currently now he has been healthy scratched. If a short term upgrade in goal is available then I would go for it, however there is no obvious candidate. Luukkonen & Levi are the long term answer hopefully.
Chychrun NO. Sabres would be stupid to give up 2 first round picks for him NO way no how…..Kane NO. To much money and we DON'T NEED HIM. He won't be here nor in the summer he's to old doesn't fit in with this group…..Provorov No….Klingberg MAYBE. Sabres need a RHD. We could give up a first for him but not this year it would have to be 2024.

I would like to see them go for Chychrun and maybe Vejmelka in goal? He gets peppered every night and has around a .900 save percentage on a terrible coyotes team

I think Kane’s gonna wanna go to a contender like NYR—at least that’s what I’ve been hearing…who knows he might even stay put in Chicago for another season if they’re able to land Bedard!

No to Patrick Kane… to old and no future for the team. Why should Sabres just take a guy because he is form Buffalo. Waste of money right now.
If it ain't about a goalie don't even bother til off season
To me Chychrun makes the most sense the difference between him and Bryson is the most stark – The Sabres have a lot of forwards in the system and some goalies but D-men is pretty weak – I'd say the same about free agency – some people say we need another RD but why? Dahlin is playing the Right side and has never looked better- I too would like some bigger grittier forwards but who do you replace? I know who I would have said a while back but I saw our 3rd line be our best line for like 3 games in a row – it's really amazing the player hot streaks and slumps – if you want to put a smile on your face imagine Quinn, Peterka, Krebs, Power, Cozens, Samuelsson with another summer of development.

No need for the sabres to make any moves or overpay. We've been down this road before. Shore up the D in the off season. Power will get much better. Sign Kaner in the off season with a hometown haircut to help lead a real Cup charge in a couple years.
Sure The yotes can say what they want and they probably wont get that because its too huge. So i put a nice package together for the Yotes. Sabres Recieve Chykrun and a 3rd rd 2023 pick for Victor Oloffson Jacob Bryson Prospect Defenseman Ryan Johnson and a 2025 1st rd pick. Money matches up with Oloffson and Chykrun. They get the first rd pick as well as A-Chip Prospect In Johnson. I think thats pretty fair for Chykrun. Klingberg cost too much as well as the Ducks asking price at his age. Provorov might be worth it depending on what they are looking for. Kane would be an Offseason move but somebody would have to vacate a spot which would be oloffson. But will see they have alot of young talent coming up.

Hard pass on Kane. Sabres have no problem scoring, but they need better defense and consistent goaltending.
I don't see GM Adams spending a ton of futures for a rental.
So i don't see them going after Kane. If anything, Sabres will maybe try to offer him a contract in UFA.
The recent events with Provorov would also nix any deal with Sabres. Their owners are big into "progressive" culture. they won't go after someone who's enemy #1 in the NHL for LGBTQ+ backlash.
Chychrun, is someone the Sabres want. But again they won't be throwing huge assets just to land him. Arizona hasn't budged on their asking price. Which i think is at least a 1st and +,+,+ .
John Klingberg, the Sabres don't need. He's been a defensive liability for a few years now. his offensive upside is diminished as well. He's -26 in 40 games this year. While Anaheim isn't a good team, that's still atrocious.
I would personally add just physical player or two at this point but not by dooming the future. This current team does not need scoring depth, just something to help keeping the puck away from own net. Kane probably wants to go for the cup(IF he even wants to leave) and Chychrun is way too overpriced. Klingberg does not add anything to the defensive side, actually making it even worse.
no to Kane not trading assets for a 34yr old, Chychrun as long as we're not giving up any current asset. the other two D-men maybe kingberg. we are not trying to win a Stanley cup this year just keep building. they dont need to go crazy.
Sabres are a soft team. They get bumped they want a penalty called. (Have to admit that they have been getting an inordinate number of soft penalties called recently. Many would have been called for a ‘dive’ at one time.) Not one of the present team would have made the cut in the ‘60’s-‘70’s. The player pool has been thinned out by too many expansion teams.
Don’t fucking tough Klinger. Big fan of him but dropped of so hard last couple of years.
Provorov or Chych would make their top 4 d one of the best in the league in a few years.

People continue to knock the Sabres goalies, but they experience far more high danger shots than most others do. Most goals go in when the Sabres players surround their own net, looking toward it, instead of outward. Teams know that they just have to keep a player hidden, and he will end up scoring. We need a solid defenseman.
I'd like for buffalo to go after chychrun but he's too damn expensive. I'll be outraged if we trade for Kane. Go after him in free agency.
Defensemen is my primary concern and that will help the goalies out more than getting another goalie
