The way the Canucks handled this has been an absolute disaster. It has been pretty obvious that the front office at some point stopped talking to their head coach.
As that article points out: if you’re going to hang a coach out to dry like this, you (GM / front office) better be prepared when the accountability gaze comes your way.

Feel sorry for Bruce, obviously, but holy shit would it be bad right now to be a Canucks fan. Not only is your team not good, the organization is garbage and the future looks dimmer by the day. Can’t imagine if the Wild team and org were collectively awful and the bad feelings of still watching their games and buying their jerseys. I still would, but man would that be a one-two punch.

canucks have officially fired both head coach Bruce Boudreau and assistant coach Trent Cull. Rick Tocchett is officially named head coach with Adam Foote named assistant coach and Sergei Gonchar defensive development coach

I miss Bruce so much. I wish he’d have gotten more time with the young guys post-Praise/Suter, just to see what he’d have done.
