Bruce is the lucky one.
This team doesn't deserve him not the fans and the players.
The people of Vancouver should put their energy into supporting the Whitecaps & BC Lions (who are both trending upwards) for the near future as the Canucks are in a full blown crisis. The current owners & upper management of the Canucks are not deserving of the fans support & money at the moment as they are making absolutely terrible decisions. Bruce got screwed over in my view & I hope Seattle picks him up as an assistant coach as a way of sticking it to the Canucks.
As much as I hate being a Toronto fan at times I'm glad that it's not Vancouver. Awful. No way to treat a guy.

I truly hope that people won't boo Tocchet, like I've seen people talking about on Twitter. He himself did nothing wrong. I fear that he will become the fans' scapegoat for their frustration, whereas it should be directed towards Rutherford and Aquilini.

i don't think i've ever sounded shannon sound, not mad like an angry fan, but more disappointed like a parent. And it's terrible what they're putting Boudreau and the players through there, too.

Im a Sens fan and Vancouver is obviously not my team but I still feel for Canucks fans like Shannon here and I really feel for Boudreau who really wanted to stay in Vancouver and I thought he did a great job keeping a great attitude towards his players even when the Canucks have been a mess all season long. Team chemistry is really the issue here along with defense. Tocchet won't turn this team around, no coach can unless the players get along again and just play better. Plain and simple. J.T Miller has also just lost that locker room and he's one of the reasons for the Canucks atrocious season. Canucks GM is a joke.
Aquilini needs to just put another name to this franchise because his reputation is in the toilet for good reason. The only way to change the vibe is to put someone else in his spot

Bruce Boudreau and Rick Tocchett are the ones who have to go through this embarrassment with The Canucks management. The Canucks are not my team, but I feel so bad how they treated Bruce Boudreau and Rick Tocchett is coming into a very toxic situation that Jim Rutherford and is his embarrassing management team created.
I just wish the OEL trade never happened. Vancouver would be in such a great position atm. We'd have Dylan Guenther, as well as so much more cap space

The Canucks are becoming/have become the mickey mouse franchise Gretzky saw New Jersey as when they entered the league. Scouting has become THE top priority of pretty much every team at the top this year. Wanna know why Boston never keeps their first rounder EVERY YEAR? SCOUTING! Wanna know why they can feel comfortable doing that? SCOUTING! Boston's org. does their research (except with mitchel miller), they saw Lindholm and Hall as solid pieces they could add, that could fit into their game plan every night, gel with their existing roster and accelerate their growth into a new era of success. Also, teams like Anaheim and Jersey are okay with trading away solid core players for first rounders because in 3 years time, those rookies will have developed into top six forwards or top four defensemen.
Whether Benning and Green were responsible for making the Canucks worse, or they were just puppets for the Aquilini puppetmaster, I don't know, but Shannon's right as to the Canuvks never building a winner here. They're not even in mediocrety, they're near the bottom of the league.
Tocchet employs similar tactics to Tortorella and a very similar defense first hard checking style so I don't understand this move at all. Vancouver could benefit from stronger defense but their problem lies in the price they're paying for lower end talent. A coach who could bring the most out of Ekman Larsson would be nice since he's their biggest price tag but really to go anywhere they either have to get rid of these ridiculous contracts or rebuild until those contracts expire, otherwise every year will be a mediocre retooling.
Ever since T. Burtuzi clobbered that AVS player I've had no love for the Canucks. I actually feel bad for them now though.

Besides the obvious chemisty Kuz has with Petterson, I have absolutely not idea why the Canucks wouldn't try to trade Kuz. The guy is 26 years old, will likely cost them about 6 mill and has one good season under his belt. If the goal is to deepen the prospect pool, acquire picks and get control of your cap, Kuz is the guy you try to trade. I do not understand trying to keep him whatsoever, besides trying to appease Petterson.

Imagine being a player or coach and admitting you didn't do your job. You're gone! Patrik Allvin didn't do his job this past summer and failed miserably. That JT Miller signing as well was atrocious. The GM is to blame. The team President is to blame for letting this GM get away with such a brutal off-season. Meanwhile, Bruce Boudreau is fired?

Did the Aquilini's make a mistake by hiring Boudreau before Rutherford? Doesn't the GM like to bring in "his" coach and this is finally what's happening with Tocchet? Or was Boudreau brought on because none of Rutherford's preferences were available a year ago?

My level of disgust has never been higher. I've been watching this team since 1970. Ownership and management are a disgrace. Ya, this is a business, but treating people so poorly tells you everything you need to know about Aquaman and JR. Allvin is a puppet and yes man. The other guys are 100% culpable. It will take a long time before I spend one penny on this team, unless the team is sold to a decent human.
The public speculation on Boudreau's sealed doom was ridiculous. He deserved a lot better than to be a scapegoat for a team that is obviously not good enough to be a contender.
May he land on his feet and with a team that is playoff calibre.
